Organization Summary Statement:
The Department of Resident Life serves a highly diverse population of approximately 12,000 undergraduate students living in traditional residence halls, apartments, and suites including some public/private partnership properties. About 46% of all resident students are enrolled in ten living-learning programs covering a wide array of academic areas. Resident Life employs a diverse workforce of over 95 full-time and graduate staff members and about 400 undergraduate student staff members. The Department actively seeks candidates who can represent and serve the diversity of persons who live and work in the University of Maryland's residence halls. The University of Maryland campus is located in the greater Washington, D.C. metro area just eight miles from downtown D.C. and 30 miles from Baltimore, MD. The Graduate Coordinator for University Housing Partnerships provides leadership in department efforts to provide high quality on and off campus housing information, education and housing search resources so students and other members of the University community can enjoy a positive housing search experience. The Graduate Coordinator serves as a member of the University Housing Partnerships team. Additionally, the Graduate Coordinator provides administrative, organizational, and logistical support for programs and processes supported by the Coordinator for University Housing Partnerships and other staff within the Department of Resident Life.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Hiring, training, inclusive supervision, development and evaluation of undergraduate Off-Campus Living Consultants (OCLCs).

Coordinate and lead monthly meetings with OCLCs to review upcoming office events, respond to staff concerns, and provide continued professional development.

Conduct performance evaluations for Off-Campus Living Coordinators (OCLCs) once each semester to assess job effectiveness and support professional growth.

Overseeing a student centered, comprehensive off-campus housing service program by providing information and educational opportunities about housing options, and other off-campus living concern resources.

Coordinating with various university departments to educate students, faculty, and staff on off-campus living options through educational videos, webinars, Off-Campus Living Fairs, new student orientation, and requested presentations.

The Graduate Coordinator will be the main staff member that will plan, oversee and execute all Off-Campus Living Fairs both virtual and in-person.

Help with managing the website, print materials and other educational materials edits.

Providing frontline assistance to students, parents and responding to inquiries from on and off-campus constituents about off-campus housing.

Assisting in maintenance and on-going development of partnership with Off Campus Partners, provider of our off-campus housing locator (the OCH Database) and Roommate Finder services.

Serving as an advocate for on and off-campus students.

Providing general support to the University Housing Partnerships (UHP) unit with special projects

Attending monthly UHP team meetings and DRL staff meetings

Supporting the Apartment Selection process in South Campus Commons and The Courtyards by supporting communication, back end management and educational efforts of the Coordinator of University Housing Partnerships and Capstone On Campus Management staff

Maintaining data and contact information for all off-campus property managers

Support the Coordinator in organizing and participating in visits to off-campus housing properties located in the City of College Park.

Provide support to the Coordinator and Associate Director related to the administration and management of the campus' public private partnership housing properties.

Participating on committees in Resident Life and campus-wide as assigned or agreed upon with supervisor.

Utilizing the StarRez Residential Community Management System to assist with administrative and operational functions related to property management at South Campus Commons and The Courtyards.
Position responsibilities and expectations of the Graduate Coordinator will be discussed and determined annually by the Graduate Coordinator and supervisor. The supervisor and Graduate Coordinator will meet regularly to ensure balance in the position and determine workload, task/project allocation, and cycles of the academic year. The Graduate Coordinator may have the opportunity to serve on departmental committees and program planning initiatives.
Preferences:
Preference will be given to candidates with proven supervision, program management, organizational and administrative skills. Candidates must be a self-starter, have a desire to participate and contribute to the organization, and be a collaborative thinker. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher are required. Experience in creating digital educational content is preferred.
Work Schedule:
This is a 12-month, live-out position which requires a commitment of approximately 20 hours per week, including some evening and occasional weekend hours. On occasion, additional hours may be required to perform job responsibilities.

Normal office environment – Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negotiable amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Ability to travel around campus for meetings and to attend to duties.
