Overview

Global Trade Compliance Lead
Based remotely in the US, preferred locations are - Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, and North and South Carolina

OVERVIEW & SCOPE OF THE ROLE

The Global Trade Compliance Lead will support the implementation and administration of a best-in-class global trade compliance system. The role requires proficiency with U.S. Trade Control laws and regulations and a working knowledge of Trade Control laws and regulations globally. The ideal candidate is someone with a servant leadership style who is analytical, adaptable, coachable, and has strong problem-solving and process design and implementation skills.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Supporting the creation and administration of a global trade compliance system.
• Administering denied party screening accounts, processing denied party screening events, and assessing denied party screening escalations.
• Collaborating cross functionally to design and implement processes to operationalize trade controls within the GBU.
• Developing trade compliance assessment tools.
• Performing trade compliance assessments.
• Teaching specified site personnel how to perform certain trade compliance related activities.
• Preparing trade compliance related training and training personnel as needed.
• Supporting trade operations.
• Preparing license applications.
• Performing item classification and supporting drafting of classification requests.
• Supporting timely closure of trade compliance related internal audit corrective actions.
• Providing trade compliance guidance to GBU personnel to enable compliance with applicable trade control regulations.
• Supporting information collection and data transformation to enable recordkeeping.
• Leading or supporting small to medium sized cross functional/cross BU projects.

Qualifications

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree.
• Must be a U.S. Person as defined by 22CFR120.62.
• Minimum four years’ experience working in import and export controls.
• Proficient with U.S. trade control regulations. Working knowledge of global trade control regulations.
• Excellent communication skills and able to communicate complex ideas to a broad audience.
• Willingness to travel to the Companies’ U.S. sites up to 10% of the time. Global travel may be required depending on work objectives.
• Skilled in process design and implementation.

Desired qualifications

• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Visio.
• Experience leading small to medium sized projects.
• Experience working in a multi-site, multi-national organization.
