Job Summary
The Fleet Analyst is responsible for operational productivity, efficiency, and managing costs through the adoption and utilization of technology and managed programs in both individual branches and total company. This role will leverage technical and analytical expertise to diagnose inefficiencies and develop and communicate operational tactics and strategies for long-term solutions in partnership with mid- and high-level leadership.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Facilitate and ensure compliance with Sonepar’s Fleet Acquisition Policy.
- Maintain and review vehicle leases including the timely and accurate processing of related monthly invoices and communicate upcoming expirations.
- Coordinate strategic relationships with Indirect Spend vendors including, but not limited to, vehicle and equipment leases and purchases, short term rentals, fuel and propane providers, and all related fleet vendors.
- Track and analyze system performance metrics utilizing fleet tracking software, telematics, asset management software, fuel reporting programs, and associated or similar tools.
- Monitor and analyze various fleet expenses to drive cost and service improvement.
- Analyze operational data to support the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures for fleet and material handling equipment.
- Ensure that all transportation related records and documentation are complete, accurate, and submitted by Irby or on Irby’s behalf to federal and state offices on a timely basis.
- Manage various projects researching and analyzing productivity metrics related to delivery expense to identify common issues and trends.
- Analyze productivity metrics and assist local operations with driving productivity improvement with recommendations for fleet size and style.
- Coordinate and comply with company safety policies and procedures.
- Support the implementation and adoption of new equipment and technology.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in procuring material handling equipment and fleet assets, including forklifts, reach trucks, order pickers, tractors and trailers.
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed to work sites for in-person meetings and projects.
Additional Desired Skills / Experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Experience with LYTX, Fuelman, Penske, Ryder, and Fleetio.
- Deep understanding of warehouse operations and equipment.
- Ability to explain complex issues to teach and train in individual and group settings.
- Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks to coordinate large sized projects.
- Desire to drive continuous improvement.
- Comfortable working in both office and warehouse environments and working via remote tools.
- Working knowledge of FMSCA/DOT and ability to interpret government regulations.
- Working knowledge of IFTA (International Fuel Tax Agreement) with experience preparing and filing quarterly IFTA returns.
