Introduction to the team
Welcome to the Financial Services Advisory (FSA) Group within Moss Adams. We are currently seeking a Quantitative Staff Financial Analyst to join our group as part of our FSA practice, specializing in model risk management and model validation, with an emphasis in credit risk and the Current Expected Credit Loss (CECL) models being implemented within financial institutions industry-wide. This is an excellent opportunity to work with our clients to validate existing CECL models, assist in the selection and implementation of CECL models, and gain expertise in allowance for credit losses methodologies overall. There is significant opportunity to expand skills, work on other types of models, and other sectors within the financial services industry.

Responsibilities:
- Ability to participate in the selection, implementation, configuration, testing, validation, support, customization and optimization our clients’ modeling and forecasting systems
- Develops and maintains detailed technical knowledge of the specifications, operation, and diagnostics of model validation
- Draft and review summary reports to meet client needs
- Conducts and contributes to client modeling and forecasting projects and recommends business process improvement efforts
- Participates in process improvement projects, identifies and implements reporting and data efficiencies to reduce client time compiling data and executing modeling
- Communicates with colleagues and peers regarding new technologies that could affect, improve or benefit clients of the firm, including automation
- Documents procedures, reports, and operations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; major in math or statistics preferred
- Minimum of one year experience in a data analysis role required; with two years experience strongly desired
- Knowledge and understanding of business intelligence functions including, but not limited to analytics, data mining, reporting, report conversion, data cleansing, data modeling, and relational databases
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook); Experience with advanced features of Microsoft Excel required
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Adaptive Insights preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience. Ability to articulate model validation procedures and changes a must
- Self-directed professional with strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively across functions/departments/teams while building trusted relationships and positively influencing others
- Proven commitment to providing exceptional client service
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to effectively prioritize assignments and produce accurate work in a timely manner
- Experience with process improvement and root cause analysis
- Ability to understand problems, think critically, and identify creative solutions
- Ability to travel as needed, approximately 30%
