Job Description:
Your opportunity
We are looking for a Financial Analyst to join our Corporate FP&A team at New Relic! New Relic is at a pivotal point in its transition to becoming the clear category leader in Observability, and this is a great opportunity for growth in financial modeling as well as business acumen. You will report directly to the Sr. Corporate FP&A Manager and be a trusted business partner to the FP&A team. You’ll support annual budget planning, assist cash flow forecasting and management, prepare board reporting materials and tackle other strategic ad hoc tasks as the company continues to grow.
What you'll do
- Support annual planning and budgeting process, partnering closely with cross functional stakeholders to develop detailed financial plans and forecasts.
- Independently prepare board meeting materials and other board requests, providing accurate analysis and insightful commentary on key financial/operational metrics and performance drivers.
- Actively involved in preparation of Quarterly Business Review (QBR) presentations, closely partnering with cross-functional teams and highlighting key recommendations and takeaways.
- Drive the end-to-end cash flow forecasting process, collaborating with Treasury and Accounting teams to ensure accuracy/compliance, and constantly optimizing the process to better align with New Relic’s consumption based business model.
- Support long-range-planning and different ad-hoc projects/requests to provide insights to senior management.
- Proactively identify opportunities for financial process improvements. Partner with our System Admin to regularly perform maintenance and testing tasks, constantly improving efficiency and scalability of our planning system and processes.
This role requires
- 1-2 years of experience in financial analytics, public accounting or equivalent industry experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or Accounting
- Demonstrated skills in financial analysis, data flow analysis
- Proficient/Excellent excel modeling skills and working knowledge of Google Sheets, Docs and Slides
- Self-starter with a “can do” attitude who is comfortable asking questions and enjoys problem-solving
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and deliver results in an unstructured environment
- Attention to detail and the highest standards for accuracy and precision, with strong organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
- Willingness to do even mundane tasks well, completing exercises quickly (but accurately) to be ready for the next challenge
- Accountability - entrusted with sensitive information and relied upon for accuracy, truth, impartiality, and accountability
Bonus points if you have
- Familiarity with Anaplan or Adaptive financial planning system
- Familiarity with Netsuite accounting system
- Technology industry experience and exposure, preferably software
- SQL or other basic query skills
- Understanding of GAAP accounting

The pay range below represents a reasonable estimate of the salary for the listed position. This role is eligible for a corporate bonus plan. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related factors such as an applicant’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
