DEFINITION
Under general supervision, performs skilled and semi-skilled Civic Center tasks; adheres to established policies and procedures; and performs other tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility. Performs other duties as assigned.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Incumbents in this position are generally supervised by the Event Set-Up Crew Lead.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform skilled and semi-skilled Civic Center tasks.
- Assist in the performance of minor repairs to all areas of the facility.
- Assist in maintaining a log of all repairs and maintenance to the facility.
- Help in monitoring all mechanical functions to ensure all building and ground equipment is functioning properly.
- Conduct room set-ups and housekeeping duties.
- Assist in the preparation of and ordering of products and materials needed to maintain the facility.
- Help in maintaining a continuous inventory of facility supplies and materials.
- Understand and utilize emergency action plan when needed.
- Carry out facility safety and operational policies and procedures.
- Willingness to work irregular hours, holidays and weekends.
- Assist the Operations Manager with special projects.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education, Training and Experience
High School Diploma or GED equivalent plus one (1) year of general maintenance work.
Licenses and Certificates
When driving is a requirement of the classification: A valid State driver license is required at the time of appointment and must be maintained throughout employment.
