Epicor Prophet 21 Consultant

Job Description:

The Epicor Prophet 21 Implementation Consultant is a pivotal role within our consulting team. You will be responsible for guiding our clients through the entire lifecycle of their Prophet 21 implementation, upgrade, or optimization projects. Your role will involve gaining a deep understanding of our clients' business needs, configuring and customizing the system, training users, and ensuring a smooth transition to the new solution.

This position can be 100% remote from Canada or the USA, but travel may be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analysis and Design:
• Lead discovery workshops with clients to understand their current business processes and specific requirements.
• Analyze gaps between existing processes and Prophet 21 capabilities.
• Design and propose optimized solutions within Prophet 21 to meet client needs.
• Draft detailed functional and technical specification documents.
• Configuration and Customization:
• Set up and configure Prophet 21 modules (Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, Finance, Production, Warehouse Management, CRM, etc.) according to validated requirements.
• Implement customizations via DynaChange, BAQ, BPM, reports (SSRS, Crystal Reports), and other integrated tools to tailor the system to client specificities.
• Participate in the integration of Prophet 21 with other third-party systems (e-commerce, WMS, etc.).
• Data Migration:
• Collaborate with the client for the collection, validation, and migration of historical data to Prophet 21.
• Ensure the integrity and accuracy of migrated data.
• Testing and Validation:
• Develop test scenarios and perform unit, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Work closely with the client to ensure the solution meets all requirements.
• Training and Post-Implementation Support:
• Develop and deliver comprehensive training sessions for end-users, super-users, and the client's IT team.
• Create clear and concise user guides and training documentation.
• Provide initial post-deployment support to ensure a successful transition.
• Project Management:
• Manage your own portfolio of tasks and projects, adhering to deadlines and budgets.
• Regularly communicate project status updates to project managers and clients.
• Identify and anticipate potential project risks and propose solutions.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of significant experience in Epicor Prophet 21 implementation or consulting.
• Proven expertise in Prophet 21 configuration and customization (DynaChange, BAQ, BPM, Crystal Reports, SSRS).
• Strong understanding of critical business processes in distribution and/or manufacturing (purchasing, sales, inventory management, finance, production, logistics).
• Proficiency in SQL Server and the ability to write complex queries.
• Excellent functional and technical analysis, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written, with a proven ability to build trusting relationships with clients.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of multidisciplinary teams, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Fluency in both French and English (spoken and written) is essential, given the context of Montreal and the potentially bilingual or English-speaking client base.
• Availability for occasional travel to client sites (depending on projects).

Additional Assets:

• Experience with other Epicor modules (e.g., Epicor Commerce Connect, Epicor CRM, Kinetic).
• Knowledge of ERP implementation methodologies.
• Epicor Prophet 21 certifications.
• Project management experience (PMP or equivalent).
• Ability to travel on-site (Canada and USA).
• English proficiency is mandatory.
