Epic ClinDoc Analyst II
United Health Services of Johnson City, New York is the largest healthcare system in New York’s Southern Tier. United Health Services is searching for an Epic ClinDoc Analyst II. This position is a full time, benefits eligible, remote role.
The Epic ClinDoc Analyst is responsible for the design, implementation, optimization, and support of the Epic Clinical Documentation (ClinDoc) module. This role collaborates closely with clinical stakeholders to ensure that documentation workflows within the electronic health record (EHR) system enhance patient care, comply with regulatory standards, and align with organizational objectives. The Epic ClinDoc Analyst II position does require On-call Support: Provide on-call support as part of a rotation of 6 analysts to address urgent system issues outside of regular business hours.
The ideal candidate will have 2 years of experience in clinical documentation with Epic ClinDoc. The preferred candidate will also have knowledge of federal and NYS healthcare regulations and standards related to clinical documentation and experience in analyzing and optimizing clinical workflows. Priority will be placed on candidates that are already Epic ClinDoc Certified. This position does not qualify for Visa Sponsorship.
Key Responsibilities
- System Design & Configuration: Design, build, test, and implement clinical documentation templates, flowsheets, and tools within the Epic ClinDoc module to support inpatient services such as nursing, respiratory therapy, behavioral health, nutrition, and social work.
- Workflow Analysis: Analyze current clinical workflows to identify areas for improvement, ensuring that documentation processes are efficient and meet clinical needs.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with clinicians, department leaders, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, provide training, and ensure the successful adoption of documentation tools.
- System Maintenance: Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and apply necessary updates or enhancements to maintain optimal functionality.
- Project Participation: Participate in projects related to system upgrades, new implementations, and other initiatives impacting clinical documentation.
- Compliance & Best Practices: Ensure that documentation tools and processes comply with regulatory requirements and reflect industry best practices.
- On-Call Support: Provide on-call support as part of a rotation to address urgent system issues outside of regular business hours.
SKILLS:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with clinical information systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with other Epic modules such as Orders, Stork, or Ambulatory.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards related to clinical documentation.
- Project management experience in a healthcare IT setting.
Education/Experience
Minimum Required:
- Two to three (2-3) years of healthcare operations (clinical, patient care, administrative or revenue cycle), information technology or health information technology experience
- OR
- Demonstrated competency in Applications Analyst I role
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (information technology or clinical/healthcare fields)
License/Certification
Minimum Required:
- For Epic roles: Current Epic certification(s)
- Willing to travel for training and achieve certification within 90 days of completion of training at Epic in application as assigned.
