What You'll Do:
The Emergency Department Technician, ED Tech functions as an on-shift team member under the direction of the nurse by providing delegated aspects of patient care and routine non-patient care. Responsibilities include triaging patients, call lights, helping set up procedures while maintaining sterile fields, cleaning and dressing wounds, assisting with casting & splinting, collecting swabs such as flu & strep, transporting patients, performing EKGs, as well as assisting with resuscitations and phlebotomy.
Where You'll Be:
The Emergency Department (ER) has 41 beds divided between two pods with 37 private rooms. A split-flow area is located near main triage and provides care to lower acuity patients. This fast-paced ER treats an average of 160+ patients per day. ER staff encounter a wide variety of patients including acute cardiovascular and neurovascular emergencies, general medical emergencies, traumatic injuries and psychiatric patients.
