Job Description:
The eCommerce Specialist is responsible for strategizing, implementing, and optimizing MaryRuth’s marketplaces and direct-to-consumer (DTC) eCommerce initiatives. This role focuses on campaign execution, product listing management, SEO optimization, and performance analysis to drive revenue and enhance the customer shopping experience. The ideal candidate is data-driven, proactive, and able to stay ahead of emerging eCommerce trends to identify new growth opportunities. This role will report to the Senior eCommerce & Retention Manager and is a full-time (40 hr/wk), hourly, non-exempt, remote position. It is preferred that candidates be able to work a US EST or CT time zone. The compensation range for this role is $27-32 USD/hr.
Responsibilities
- eCommerce Campaign Strategy & Execution
- Develop, implement, and optimize e-commerce campaigns to boost revenue and customer engagement.
- Track campaign performance, create detailed recaps with key insights and recommendations, and present findings to management.
- Collaborate with marketing and creative teams to ensure promotional strategies align with brand objectives.
- Product Listings, SEO & Category Optimization
- Manage and enhance product listings with accurate information, compelling copy, and high-quality images.
- Implement SEO strategies to improve organic visibility and rankings on Amazon, Walmart, Shopify, and other platforms.
- Conduct regular audits and A/B testing to optimize product pages for better conversion rates.
- Performance Tracking & Data Analysis
- Monitor eCommerce performance metrics using tools like Jungle Scout, Tableau, and Google Analytics; provide monthly performance reports analyzing MoM and YoY trends and including strategic recommendations.
- Identify data-driven opportunities to improve pricing, promotions, and customer engagement.
- Customer Journey & Retention Optimization
- Improve cart recovery, upselling, and personalized product recommendations to increase customer lifetime value.
- Develop and refine automated workflows and customer touchpoints to enhance the shopping experience.
- Work with the Customer Experience team to address and efficiently resolve product-related inquiries.
- Marketplace & Industry Expertise
- Stay up to date on eCommerce trends, algorithm changes, and platform updates through ongoing research; attend industry webinars and conferences to bring new insights and strategies to the eCommerce & Marketing team.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, educating the team on marketplace best practices and emerging opportunities.
- Operational & Compliance Management
- Ensure compliance with marketplace policies and prevent listing suppressions.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and product availability through proactive coordination with Supply Chain and other internal partners.
- Monitor and manage Amazon and other marketplaces’ Buy Box ownership to maximize visibility, competitiveness, and revenue potential; work cross-functionally to resolve pricing discrepancies or violations that could affect Buy Box win rate.
- Strategic Growth & Optimization
- Execute marketplace and DTC initiatives to increase traffic, conversions, and revenue.
- Conduct competitor analysis to refine pricing, positioning, and promotional strategies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with teams in Marketing and Operations to align eCommerce strategies; communicate insights and recommendations to senior leadership and additional stakeholders.
- Additional responsibilities as needed.
- Some travel (<10%) may be required, with advance notice provided to the employee.
Qualifications
- 2-4 years of experience in eCommerce, digital marketing, or marketplace management.
- Proficiency in Amazon Seller Central, TikTok Shop Seller Center, Walmart Marketplace, Shopify, and Google Analytics.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using Jungle Scout, Tableau, and Excel/Google Sheets.
- Knowledge of SEO best practices, conversion rate optimization, and eCommerce automation tools.
- Ability to present data-driven insights in a clear and actionable manner.
- Experience with marketplace advertising (Amazon PPC, Walmart Sponsored Ads, etc.) is strongly preferred.
- Understanding of customer retention strategies and automated email/SMS workflows is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
- This role involves sitting most of the time, but may also involve moving for brief periods of time.
