General Summary
Dispatcher PRN for the Police Department provides support during peak hours or emergencies, ensuring effective communication and coordination of police activities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Handles emergency calls and dispatches police units appropriately.
- Maintains communication with officers in the field.
- Records all activities and calls for service accurately.
- Participates in training and learns systems and procedures pertinent to dispatching.
Minimum and Preferred Entrance Qualifications
- Must possess high school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in law enforcement dispatch is preferred.
- Must be able to type at least 40 words per minute.
