Job Description
The Director of Stewardship & Foundation Operations is a regular full-time exempt position of USA Volleyball reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer and President of the USA Volleyball Foundation (USAVF) with 100% of time devoted to supporting USAVF. General duties include but are not limited to overseeing USAVF’s Annual Fund Campaign, researching, contacting and maintaining donor / prospect CRM records / database; and general administrative duties (correspondence, mailings, documentation, budgeting, expenses, foundation events, planning, etc.) Cross departmental support is expected of all positions. Extended hours may be required to include nights, weekends and holidays. The position may work out of any USAV office or operate remotely.
Requirements
Annual Campaign Leadership and Fundraising Operations
- Lead the strategic planning, organization, and execution of USAVF’s annual fund campaign, including the annual Day of Giving, and set overarching goals and success metrics for development initiatives.
- Oversee the management and enhancement of all online giving platforms, ensuring integration with fundraising appeals, donor engagement strategies, and performance analysis.
- Direct the creation, deployment, and evaluation of donor communications, including acknowledgments, thank-you letters, tax statements, and other related correspondence associated with annual giving.
Strategic Marketing, Brand, and Communications Oversight
- Provide strategic direction and oversight to USAV marketing staff and external vendors, ensuring alignment with the Foundation’s brand identity and supporting all fundraising and development communication efforts.
- Collaborate with USAV Marketing/Communication teams to design and implement targeted campaigns and materials that support USAVF's fundraising objectives and donor engagement.
Donor Management and Stewardship
- Supervise the research, cultivation, and solicitation of donors and prospects, with responsibility for maintaining and optimizing the CRM database and ensuring robust tracking of moves management—especially in partnership with the President and major gift officers.
- Develop, monitor, and update moves management strategies for prospect portfolios, consistently analyzing effectiveness and adjusting approaches in collaboration with leadership stakeholders.
- Plan, organize and manage gratitude and stewardship systems providing timely expressions of appreciation to donors, evaluating impact to foster an engaged donor community and distributing informative reports to donors demonstrating gifts at work.
Event Strategy and Stakeholder Engagement
- Design, plan, and execute high-profile cultivation and stewardship events in conjunction with board meetings and USAV activities, ensuring the experience and engagement of key stakeholder groups, including Booster Club, Foundation board, Advisory Council, and committee members.
- Oversee the logistics, hospitality planning, and support for event participants, ensuring seamless experiences and consistent stewardship standards.
Administration and Compliance
- Set and oversee annual development budgets and ensure accurate tracking of income and expenses, prepare regular reports on fundraising progress and financial health for senior leadership and the board.
- Oversee the preparation of board meeting materials and presentations, and provide strategic input on fundraising performance, opportunities, and risks.
- Direct the creation and submission of major gift proposals and grant applications, and ensure all administrative workflows support the highest level of efficiency, compliance, and stewardship.
- Fulfill additional leadership responsibilities and special projects, as assigned by the President, to advance the Foundation’s strategic priorities.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong demonstrated professional experience in the field of philanthropy demonstrating growth, especially in the areas of foundation operations, annual giving, and stewardship.
- Comfort and familiarity with a using a CRM and other technology to track progress and achieve development goals.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and demonstrated ability to manage and execute multiple projects and priorities.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Must successfully pass a USAV background screen (prior to hire date).
- Must complete SafeSport training within two weeks of hire date and keep current as a condition of continued employment.
Salary: $90,000 - $110,000
