Description
The Default and Loan Servicing Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of mortgage servicing operations at Champions Funding. This includes ensuring sub-servicers and internal teams meet performance standards, regulatory requirements, and borrower experience expectations. The role plays a key part in protecting the integrity of loan servicing through proactive governance, issue resolution, vendor oversight, and strategic collaboration across internal departments. This position demands deep knowledge of servicing best practices, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead oversight of mortgage servicing functions, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant loan servicing throughout the portfolio.
• Monitor sub-servicer performance against contractual SLAs and servicing standards, identifying gaps and driving resolution.
• Coordinate servicing transfers, including onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring smooth execution and data accuracy.
• Design and maintain oversight frameworks to evaluate servicing quality, borrower experience, and operational effectiveness.
• Partner with sub-servicers to ensure timely and accurate reporting, issue remediation, and ongoing performance improvements.
• Monitor compliance with servicing regulations, including CFPB, RESPA, and TILA, and ensure adherence to investor and agency guidelines.
• Review servicing reports and dashboards to identify trends, exceptions, or potential risks requiring escalation or corrective action.
• Lead periodic performance reviews and audits of third-party servicers; participate in due diligence and risk reviews.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Compliance, Risk, Legal, and Loan Administration to align servicing practices with company goals and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in the development and enhancement of borrower-facing servicing standards, including complaint resolution and borrower communication protocols.
• Support strategic servicing initiatives, such as platform enhancements, vendor transitions, or improvements to oversight processes.
