Job Overview
The Cosmetology Worker CTE PT GR assists in the operations of a student salon where Cosmetology students earn TDLR certification hours and provide services to clients. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe, clean, and inviting environment, supporting students and the Cosmetology Lab Manager, and ensuring compliance to professional and TDLR standards. The Cosmetology Worker CTE PT GR will assist with client scheduling, customer service, and inventory management.
Position Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily operations of a student salon, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized salon environment, ensuring compliance with all TDLR regulations within the salon.
- Provide support for the CTE Cosmetology Manager as needed.
- Support cosmetology students as they provide services, ensuring proper techniques and professional standards.
- Assist with client scheduling, check-ins, and appointment coordination.
- Assist in maintaining inventory and supplies needed for salon services.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and ensuring satisfaction.

Additional Information
- Frequent manual dexterity is required to perform lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling tasks described previously, in addition to preparing food dishes with or without utensils, adjusting thermostats on ovens and grills, washing pots and pans, and cleaning, wiping counters, sweeping, and mopping. Frequent reaching from side to side up to arm’s length while preparing and serving food or performing cleaning activities is required. Work requires continual walking and standing while performing essential functions. Occasional bending, stooping, and squatting is required to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Work requires exposure to extreme hot and/or cold temperatures from steamers and freezers and the hazards associated with food tipping or spilling off of food and utility carts and dollies. Incumbents are also exposed to hazards associated with cleaning chemicals.
