Summary:

The IT Technician at Crossroads School will manage and maintain hardware and provide technical support for staff and students. A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and prior technical knowledge are required for this part-time position.

Requirements:

Technology: Google Workspace for Education, Apple MDM, Windows OS, Chrome OS, iOS, MacOS

Credentials: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Experience: Prior experience with Google Chrome and Apple Devices., Hardware technical knowledge for Windows OS, Chrome OS, iOS and MacOS systems.

Job Description:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION The IT Technician is responsible for managing and maintaining company hardware infrastructure, including computers, TVs, projectors, Apple TVs, Chromecasts and other devices, ensuring they function properly and are secure.

Key Responsibilities:

· Hardware Management:

o Device Deployment: Distributing and setting up new hardware devices for students and staff. 

o Inventory and Tracking: Maintaining an accurate inventory of all hardware assets, including laptops, tablets, printers, and projectors. 

o Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnosing and resolving hardware issues, ranging from minor problems to complex repairs. 

o Maintenance and Upgrades: Performing routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, updating software, and replacing parts. 

o Device Loaner Programs: Implementing and managing device loaner programs to ensure students have access to technology when needed. 

· Security:

o Data Protection: Enforcing security policies to protect sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access. 

o Device Security: Enforcing security measures such as passcodes, screen locks, and encryption. 

· Support:

o Technical Support: Providing technical support to students and staff, answering questions, and resolving issues. 

o Training: Providing training to staff on how to use new hardware and software. 

o Communication: Communicating effectively with staff and administrators about hardware issues and solutions. 

· Software Management:

o Software Installation and Updates: Installing and updating software on school devices. 

o Software Licensing: Managing software licenses and ensuring compliance. 

o App Management: Deploying and managing apps on school devices with the support of the LMS/SIS Technician.

REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 

· Prior experience with Google Chrome and Apple Devices.

· Hardware technical knowledge for Windows OS, Chrome OS, iOS and MacOS systems.

· A self-starter who takes ownership, enjoys leadership, and has excellent analytical and problem-solving skills 

· Highly competent in technological skills  

· Strong written and communication skills 

· Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

· iPad Carts

· Chromebook Carts

· Apple TV

· Chromecast

· Classroom TVs

· HS Device Management/support

· Library Computers

· STEAM Lab Computers

  

Repair Damaged devices or other School IT items

· Google Chrome Device Warranty Repair

· Manually repair Google Chrome Devices

· TVs

· Carts and Stands

· Power supplies

Procurement of School Devices

· Help determine needs for next school year based on School group:

o HS – Macbooks

o MS – Chromebooks

o ES – Chromebooks

o EE – Chromebooks

  

· Replace out of date devices

o Chromecast Gen1 and 2 obsolete

WORKING CONDITIONS

· Able to open and close School Campus Facilities

· Able to keep the campus safe and protected from the public during school hours.

· Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.

· Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach daily.

· Able to perform general office administrative activities: copying, filing, delivering and using the telephone.

· Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally.

MENTAL WORK DEMANDS AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

· Regular and on-time attendance.

· Hours not to exceed 40 hours per week.

CLASSIFICATION:

· FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

· Pay Grade: CCS Pay Grade 5
