1. GENERAL POSITION INFORMATION
Position Name: Coordinating Course Facilitator
Classification: Exempt, Benefited
FTE: 1.0, Full-time
Work Hours: 37.5 hours/week
Department/Division: Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine
Supervisor: Director, Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine

2. POSITION SUMMARY
The Coordinating Course Facilitator assists with process coordination, content review, quality assurance, administrative tasks, student interaction and instructional assistance, as assigned by the program directors.
When assigned to facilitate individual courses, they will also:
·Respond to student posts in the discussions and support students and instructors in clear and timely communication
·Participate in course learning activities
·Grade student work as requested by instructor
·Monitor discussions for questions, post content in the discussions when appropriate, and notify the instructor about posts that require their attention.
The Coordinating Course Facilitator may also be assigned to be an instructor in one or more courses.
3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Process Coordination and Analytic Projects (35%)
- Coordinate and monitor course preparation for delivery each quarter.
- Monitor active courses for adherence to program practices and compliance with university policies.
- Contribute to developing, implementing, assessing, and improving program processes.
- Support instructors and course facilitators in meeting performance expectations as assigned by program directors.
- Develop and maintain resources for instructor and course facilitator reference.
Classroom Course Facilitator Duties (35%)
- Assist instructors with academic needs such as grading student work, locating resources, responding to student requests and guiding students in specific aspects of the course and content
- Respond to student posts in the discussions and support students and instructors in clear and timely communication.
- Monitor discussions for questions, post content in the discussions when appropriate, and notify instructor of posts that require their attention.
- Check external links weekly in each assigned course to ensure they are functioning correctly and are accurate.
- Stay abreast of developments in the program from both the student and instructor perspectives to help ensure the students are engaged and supported, and the instructors are getting the assistance they need.
- Meet with the program directors on a regular basis for training, educational, and/or administrative purposes.
- Read, understand and act in accordance with all FERPA standards established by UWS for protecting the security and privacy of student records.
Administrative Responsibilities (20-30%)
- Review assigned courses prior to the start of each quarter for presentation and accuracy including grammar, punctuation, spelling, format, active and accurate links, etc.
- Collect data to support continuous improvement, academic assessment, and student engagement goals.
- Assist in implementation of academic integrity processes.
- Ensure the university store and library have accurate book and course information for each quarter
- Perform administrative tasks assigned by Program Directors
Course Instruction (0-15%)
- Complete all required duties related to teaching a course in the HNFM programs, including content development, student instruction and assessment, and the associated duties required to fulfill these goals.

5. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Required
Education & Training: Clinical or academic doctoral degree in a nutrition-relevant field
Experience: Experience in online courses similar to those in the HNFM programs
Related Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Functional medicine training; Proficiency with standard office software and ability to learn to use university software systems
Preferred
Education & Training: Clinical doctoral degree in a nutrition-relevant field
Experience: 2 or more years of clinical experience
Related Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Functional medicine practice experience; Experience with Microsoft 365 and Teams applications; Experience with Canvas learning management system
