Job Description:
Under the general supervision of the Conference Center Manager and/or Conference Center Coordinator, to provide a variety of support work for events and for guests of the River Lodge Conference Center and Monday Club; and to do related work as required.
The Conference Center Worker is a regular or on-call, part-time position with responsibility for a variety of tasks related to the River Lodge Conference Center and Monday Club. Job assignments are sometimes performed with minimal guidance and supervision with the expectations that incumbents have the ability to choose among alternatives in completing tasks. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Conference Center Manager and/or Conference Center Coordinator, with some latitude granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative. Work is typically performed in a general office and meeting room environment. Some work is performed in a commercial kitchen. Work involves moderate to heavy physical labor in setting up and taking down tables and chairs and performing maintenance tasks. Position will require work on a flexible schedule which will include nights and weekends.
Examples of Duties
Provide information to assist clients in setting up meetings, receptions, and banquets: Receive visitors and direct inquiries; Welcome prospective customers and assist them in viewing conference center; Assist persons utilizing the conference center in a variety of ways; Assist kitchen user groups; Interact with public and others in providing information regarding the River Lodge Conference Center; Set up various rooms for meetings, receptions, and banquets; Assist with food preparation and service; Operate office and computer equipment including audio visual and sound system and cash register; Perform clerical tasks and record-keeping; Facility maintenance including tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, washing windows, cleaning and maintenance of commercial kitchen facilities; Gallery sales, stocking inventory, and maintenance; Run errands to pick up food or other supplies; Resolve routine problems.

Education and Experience
High School diploma or GED required. Any combination of training and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the requisite knowledge and abilities would be two (2) years of work experience involving conference, event, or banquet planning with frequent public interaction.
