Essential Job Functions:

Designs, delivers, and evaluates comprehensive coding education programs for new and existing coding providers and staff.

Conducts routine and ad-hoc coding audits; analyzes results to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

Provides feedback, coaching, and one-on-one education based on audit findings and performance metrics.

Stays up-to-date with current coding guidelines, payer policies, and regulatory updates (CMS, AMA, OIG, etc.).

Collaborates with compliance, clinical documentation improvement (CDI), revenue integrity, and billing teams to align education with enterprise goals.

Develops training materials, reference guides, and online modules using best practices in adult education.

Partners with providers and clinical staff to educate on documentation best practices that support compliant and accurate coding.

Acts as a subject matter expert (SME) for coding-related inquiries and serve as a resource to internal stakeholders.

Assists with onboarding and training of new hires and support cross-training efforts within the department.

Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
