Position Purpose
The ACE IT Clinical Informatics Pharmacist works within a team environment to install and maintain the clinical information system in inpatient and outpatient sites. This includes supporting all project roll out phases including onsite assessments, designing and building if needed, testing, training, support, and maintenance. This position receives direction and guidance from the Director of Pharmacy and ensures pharmacy teams within the organization embrace the technical and operational changes with the transition to a clinical information system. This position provides support to the planning, implementation, and support of the CareFusion refresh. This position is responsible for ticket resolution for pharmacy related functionality and build. This position assists the Director of Pharmacy with various projects and responsibilities
This is a remote position requiring 25-30% travel
Responsibilities & Tasks
ACE IT PROJECT RELATED:
· Provides input into the design of clinical, distributive, and business/operational process changes.
· Resolves clinical process and content issues associated with the electronic medical record system.
· Establishes/maintains project vision and continually participating in activities.
· Promotes change initiatives in hospitals to successfully adopt the electronic medical record.
· Provides education for end users in the use of the electronic medical record.
· Provides coverage support for implementation specialist when necessary.
· Tests domain refreshes and upgrades
· Assists Director of Pharmacy with the creation and implementation of new clinical workflow
· Assists Director of Pharmacy with advisory team initiatives and Q&A presentations
· Assists Director of Pharmacy with parallel projects
· Assists Director of Pharmacy with team meetings
· Maintains and distributes the ACE IT pharmacy FAQ
· Writes the monthly newsletter topics and submits them timely
AUTOMATED DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM RELATED:
· Cross-trains as automated distribution system expert, offering recommendations/processes/content.
· Advises on its localization and implementation in the hospital.
· Resolves clinical process and content issues associated with the automated distribution system.
· Assists in policy/procedure changes for implementing and adopting automated distribution system.
· Promotes change initiatives to successfully adopt the automated distribution system.
· Provides education for end users in the use of the automated distribution system.
· Guides clinicians in demos, designs, user trainings, and other critical activities.
· Able to lead educational process for automated dispensing system
· Able to work with CareFusion project manager to ensure implementation milestones are achieved
· Provides coverage support for Pharmacy Support Specialist, CareFusion support, when necessary.
· Assists in maintenance of automated distribution system drug database; ensure it is up-to-date.
TICKET RELATED:
· Monitors, manages, and resolves ACE IT pharmacy and related Clinical Information System tickets.
· Provides education for end users in the use of the remedy ticket process.
· Validates work performed by AMS in CERT and PROD.
· Manages charge master and the addition of new drug items into the drug database.
· Attends change and ticket overview calls
· Creates and manages Discern Analytics group reports
· Provides ticket tracking and summary
GENERAL:
· Organizes, plans, and manages time effectively to complete assignments.
· Meets position requirements and performs essential functions.
· Completes mandatory training and courses required by completion date.
· Functions as an additional resource for supporting implementation specialists.
· Ensures accuracy of build and maintenance of pharmacy content in the electronic medical record.
Qualifications
License or Certification:
· Registered and licensed pharmacist
Minimum Qualifications:
· 2 or more years of experience in complex healthcare environment preferred
· Experience working in Electronic Health Record environment preferred
· 2 or more years of experience maintaining electronic medical record preferred
· Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint · Strong understanding of existing clinical workflow in company hospitals preferred
Machines, Equipment Used:
· General office equipment such as computer/laptop, telephone, copy/fax machine, calculator, scanner, etc.
· Microsoft Office software, to include Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Physical Requirements:
· Visual acuity, speech recognition, speech clarity.
· Ability to lift, lower, push, pull, and retrieve objects weighing a minimum of 15 pounds. Reasonable assistance may be requested when lifting, pushing, and/or pulling exceeds these minimum requirements.
