We will be hiring WS and Non-WS student employees for this position.
The Digital Accessibility Center works to ensure that UT class and other online materials are accessible, especially for disabled students, faculty, and staff with access needs.
Purpose
The Captioning Student Associate captions and transcribes a wide variety of class materials and other requests. This provides a valuable service to the entire campus, especially for students that have accessibility needs to be able to participate and learn fully in their classes.
Responsibilities
- Captioning and transcribing
- Syncing captions
- Communicating with other undergraduate as well as graduate student associates through messages and meetings
Required Qualifications
- Access to a modern computer and high-speed internet
- High fluency in written and spoken English
- Attention to detail and able to work independently
- Basic computer skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with captioning and transcribing
- Good at editing written English
- High fluency in written and spoken Spanish
- High fluency in written and spoken other language
Pay
$11/hour

- This position will be completely remote with a flexible work schedule.
