Job Purpose: The Asset Management and Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate records of all fleet vehicles, test equipment and other equipment across the organization. This role ensures that assets are properly tracked, maintained, inspected, and available for operational use. The specialist will work closely with field teams, mechanics, procurement, and leadership to support safe and cost-effective asset utilization.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a complete and up-to-date inventory of all company fleet vehicles, trailers, test equipment, and processing rigs.
- Track the lifecycle of assets from acquisition through deployment, maintenance, and retirement.
- Implement and maintain asset tagging and tracking systems (e.g., barcoding, GPS, RFID).
- Perform regular audits and inspections of job sites, yards, and warehouses to verify asset condition and location.
- Coordinate equipment assignments, transfers, and returns between job sites and branches.
- Monitor and document usage, maintenance schedules, and calibrations.
- Assist with procurement of new tools/equipment and help manage surplus or decommissioned assets.
- Generate reports on utilization, loss prevention, maintenance status, and inventory variances.
- Support safety and regulatory compliance, ensuring assets meet required standards and documentation.
Qualifications
Required:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in logistics, construction management, or business is a plus.
- Experience: 2–4 years in fleet or construction inventory/asset management preferred.
Preferred:
- Working knowledge of test equipment, fleet vehicle types, and processing rigs.
- Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills
- Proficient in Excel and inventory management software (e.g., Fleetio, Asset Panda, ToolWatch, Telematics)
- Ability to conduct physical counts and inspections in outdoor and shop environments
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
Working Conditions:
- Split between office, warehouse, yard, and field environments
- May require lifting items up to 50 lbs, climbing into vehicles, and traveling to job sites
- Use of PPE may be required during inspections or on active construction sites
