Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and strengthening relationships with U.S. universities and API student participants to drive enrollment in API’s experiential learning programs. The position provides advising and coaching to on-site staff at partner universities and offers direct support to students throughout the API application and enrollment processes, including visa preparation and other pre-departure requirements.
Additionally, this position plays a key role in fostering strong relationships with both university partners and individual students, with the overarching goal of increasing student participation in API programs within an assigned region.
RESPONSIBILITIESKey Responsibilities:
- Promote a comprehensive portfolio of core API programs—including study abroad, internship, virtual, and domestic opportunities—to prospective students and U.S. university partners within the assigned region (subject to change as needed).
- Conduct campus visits for student advising and coaching, both in-person and virtually, during peak and off-peak recruitment seasons (travel up to 75%). Engage directly with students and campus stakeholders to provide personalized guidance and support.
- Actively participate in study abroad fairs, representing API and engaging with students, faculty, and staff to promote program offerings.
- Regularly coordinate, host, and represent API at information tables, classroom presentations, and informational sessions to increase program visibility and engagement.
- Collaborate with API’s Advising and Coaching team and cross-departmental colleagues to ensure students complete all required documentation through to the pre-departure stage.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for both students and university partners in the CRM system. This includes logging activities, documenting interactions, and ensuring timely communication with relevant API departments.
- Identify and assess new opportunities with partner institutions and collaborate with API’s Customized Programming team to explore and develop customized and faculty-led program offerings.
- Partner with the Member Services team to contribute to the annual recruitment strategy and schedule, including participation in study abroad fairs, campus visits, conferences, virtual advising sessions, webinars, and other outreach initiatives.
- Actively participate in and attend international education conferences, which may include (but are not limited to) the NAFSA National Conference, NAFSA Regional Conferences, the Forum on Education Abroad, and similar events.
- Ensure accurate and transparent expense reporting in accordance with API’s reimbursement policies, including adherence to travel per diem guidelines.
- Cross-train with other departments to proficiently manage live chat, incoming calls, and the ticketing system; responsible for routine shifts in these communication channels.
- Contribute to special projects and perform additional tasks as needed or assigned by management.
