Job Title: Youth Development Professional 1  

Division: Operations 

Location: JAMS SMBGC Clubhouse 

Status: 22 Hours a week, Non-Exempt 

Approximate Hours: School Year: (Primarily After School; 2:00pm-6:30pm M-Fri) Position starts 2 weeks hiring 

Base Pay: $22-$23.50 / Hour

The Youth Development Professional 1 provides development and implementation of fun and engaging programming. The Youth Development Professional 1 contributes to positive youth development, empowerment, and drives youth outcomes across the spectrums of academic achievement, good character & citizenship, and health and wellness. 

Responsibilities 

• Promotes and stimulates program participation. 
• Provides guidance and role modeling to members. 
• Focus on maintaining a safe, positive atmosphere for all youth. 
• Exhibits a warm, professional attitude toward youth that uses a positive approach in dealing with individuals as well as groups of children. 
• Effectively plan and lead programs, services and a variety of activities for members. 
• Effectively communicate with staff and with children of all ages being an active positive team member. 
• Completes program planners in a timely manner including new, fun and inviting program ideas for the designated area(s).

• Desire and ability to work with children. 
• Ability to accept supervision and guidance.      
• Good character, integrity and adaptability. 
• Enthusiasm, good judgment, patience and self-control.   
• Must participate in required trainings by the Club, County, State, and/or funders. 
• Must be able to pass a drug test that includes screening for marijuana, criminal and driving records investigations, and reference checks.    
• A valid driver's license and ability to be insured under the company's insurance policy.  
• Good verbal and communications skills. 
• Be adaptable and be flexible to changes. 
• The successful candidate will primarily work indoors. Accordingly, the ability to use a variety of equipment including janitorial and office equipment is required. 
• The job requires the ability to stand for extended periods, kneel, reach, bend, and lift objects weighing in excess of 25 lbs.  
• Outdoor work and moderate physically demanding activities may be required on occasion.   
• Be able to maintain high level of energy. 
• Strong organization and interpersonal skills.
