The Junior Chefs Instructor co-teaches a basic culinary arts class that helps children ages 6-10 and 11-14 learn about nutrition, kitchen safety, and cooking. This job is located at our off-site childcare location at 1701 East Century Avenue in Bismarck.
Be a role model
Guide participants through pre-planned activities
Communicate appropriately with participants and parents
Assure that children safely participate in food prep, cooking, baking and educational activities
Assist with set up and clean up before and after the program session
Part Time:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, 6:00 pm-7:30 pm
Program Dates October-April
QualificationsWe are looking for someone who displays the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Must be age 16 or older. Previous experience working in a childcare or children's program preferred. Previous food service and/or food prep experience preferred. Must have the ability to handle competing demands. Must have the ability to effectively communicate and build relationships with participants and parents.
