Summary
The RN delivers safe, timely, and quality nursing care to patients in person, via telephone, or through the patient portal. They are responsible for applying standardized clinical guidelines and independent nursing judgment to meet the physiologic, developmental, and psychosocial needs of patients.
Job Description
At NorthBay Health, the RN provides care according to the specific physiologic, developmental and psychosocial needs of the patient. Supports the mission, vision, values and expectation of excellence of the organization. The role of the RN is to deliver safe and timely care to patients either in person, via telephone or patient portal using standardized clinical guidelines, resources, and independent nursing judgment. The RN has the responsibility, accountability, and the authority to deliver safe, effective, quality, excellent nursing care according to the philosophy and goals/objectives of the CWH department.
Qualifications
Education
Graduate from an accredited school of professional registered nursing with a BS or higher in Nursing required.
Licensure/Certification
- Valid and current RN license by the State of California.
- Current AHA or equivalent BLS.
- Fetal Monitoring required, or must obtain within 12 months of hire, and annual competency thereafter
Experience
Minimum of one-year experience in an ambulatory or acute care setting, specific experience in Labor and Delivery, Women’s Health or Diabetic Education preferred.
Skills
- Computing skills including experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and data management.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of patients, physicians, health care personnel, supervisory staff, and peers.
- Demonstrates the ability to be organized and efficient in prioritizing and managing assignments with minimal oversight and direction.
- Demonstrates the willingness to research, learn, and obtain knowledge for the performance of the position.
- Demonstrates a courteous professional demeanor at all times while working collaboratively or individually. Maintains positive relationships with all team members including peers and supervisors.
- Utilizes critical thinking, applies sound clinical judgment and uses assessment skills for decision making.
- Knowledge of Standards of federal and state regulations. Diagnosis codes and related guidelines. Current standards and trends in health care, best practices, and familiarity with related resources and literature. Capitation and Managed Care legislation.

Compensation Structure
NorthBay Health uses a structured compensation framework. Staff-level positions use a step-based system (Steps 1–5) based on years of directly related experience, with Step 5 representing 20 or more years of experience in the role. Manager level and above positions are paid a fixed annual base salary and are eligible for a variable incentive compensation plan. Physician compensation is structured based on specialty and role requirements.

NorthBay Health is primarily an onsite organization due to the nature of healthcare. Some roles may allow hybrid or remote work based on business needs.
Remote work is not supported in Washington, Ohio, Wyoming, North Dakota, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, or outside of the United States.

In 2016, the NorthBay Wellness Center opened on the campus. It includes the NorthBay Cancer Center, the fitness center and Cardiac Rehabilitation.
