Job Details: Job Location: Pico Resort - Mendon, VT, Position Type: Part-Time Seasonal, Salary Range: $21.00 - $22.05Hourly, Job Category: Mountain Sports, Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation: Hourly wage, adjusted based on experience.
Benefits: Seasonal position eligible for a season pass for employee/dependents and privileges at several other resorts. Several discount programs (i.e. food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.) also available.
Job Summary:
The Fitness Instructor is responsible for leading group fitness classes that promote health, wellness, and enjoyment for participants. This role is vital to providing high-quality fitness experiences that cater to various skill levels and interests, enhancing the overall well-being of guests and members. The Fitness Instructor fosters a positive and inclusive environment while delivering safe, engaging, and effective workouts.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Lead group fitness classes in one or more disciplines, such as yoga, water aerobics, cardio, Zumba, full-body conditioning, suspension training, and spin
Plan and prepare class routines to accommodate participants of varying skill levels and abilities
Provide clear instructions and demonstrations to ensure participant safety and proper technique
Monitor participants during classes, offering modifications and corrections as needed
Create a welcoming and inclusive environment that encourages participation and engagement
Deliver excellent customer service by addressing participant questions and concerns promptly and professionally
Maintain a clean and organized fitness space, ensuring equipment is properly stored and in good working order
Stay up-to-date with current fitness trends, techniques, and certifications
Qualifications: Basic Qualifications:
Certification in group fitness, personal training, or specific disciplines (e.g., yoga, spin, Zumba)
Current CPR/AED certification preferred
Physical ability to lead and demonstrate exercises for the duration of the class
Dependability and punctuality for scheduled classes
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with participants
Ability to adapt class routines to accommodate different fitness levels and special needs
Passion for health, fitness, and helping others achieve their wellness goals
Proactive and energetic attitude to create a motivating and enjoyable class atmosphere
Organizational skills to manage class schedules and maintain fitness spaces
Excellent customer service skills
In-depth knowledge of the fitness disciplines being instructed
