Passenger Service Attendant – Wheelchair Agent

Pay Rate: $14.50 per hour

Schedule

Available Shifts:

11:00 AM – 7:30 PM (Mid Shift)
4:00 PM – 12:30 AM (Closing Shift)

Schedules may vary based on operational needs. The scheduled end time is not guaranteed. Due to airport operations, flight delays, and changing airline schedules, employees may be required to remain on duty beyond their scheduled shift when additional coverage is needed.

About the Position

Huntleigh USA is seeking dependable, customer-focused individuals to join our team as Passenger Service Attendants (Wheelchair Agents) at Huntsville International Airport. This position plays a vital role in providing safe, professional, and courteous assistance to passengers requiring wheelchair services throughout the airport.

As a Wheelchair Agent, you will transport passengers to and from gates, baggage claim areas, ticket counters, and other airport locations while ensuring excellent customer service and compliance with all airport, airline, TSA, and Huntleigh USA procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Safely transport passengers throughout the airport using wheelchairs.
Provide courteous and respectful assistance to passengers with mobility needs.
Assist passengers with directions and general airport information.
Maintain a professional and friendly attitude when interacting with passengers, airline personnel, airport staff, and the public.
Coordinate passenger assignments with dispatch personnel.
Communicate with airline and gate agents regarding wheelchair service requests.
Comply with all TSA screening requirements and airport security procedures.
Accurately complete wheelchair service logs and documentation.
Report accidents, injuries, incidents, and unusual occurrences as required.
Follow all Huntleigh USA, airline, airport, and safety policies.
Perform other duties as assigned to support operational needs.
Remain available beyond scheduled hours when flight delays or operational requirements require additional coverage.

Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent physical activity in a fast-paced airport environment. Applicants must be able to:

Stand and walk for extended periods.
Push and maneuver occupied wheelchairs throughout the airport.
Lift, carry, and/or hold 75 pounds or more.
Squat, stoop, bend, and kneel as needed.
Safely assist passengers with mobility needs.
Work efficiently in a busy airport setting.

Qualifications

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent may be required.
Reliable transportation to and from work.
Reliable telephone for communication.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Dependable, professional, and safety-conscious.
Ability to successfully complete airport background screening requirements.
Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing, if applicable.
Willingness to complete all required company, airline, airport, and TSA training.
Flexibility to work overtime and extended shifts when operational needs require.

Employees must maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance at all times.

Required uniform must be worn as directed.
No facial piercings.
No tattoos below the wrist or above the neck.
