Job Summary:
We are looking for a dynamic individual passionate about teaching for our after-school program. Sistema Utah is partnered with American Preparatory Academy to offer music and homework assistance classes for free to under-resourced students. Patterned after the El Sistema movement that originated in Venezuela, it is our hope to empower our students for social change.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Mentors assist elementary grades (2-6) students with most subjects in an after-school classroom setting.
There are three periods daily, each 40 minutes in duration.
You will receive training prior to starting this position.
Schedule:
Expected hours: Up to 20 hours per week from August - May
Hours (Part-Time): M, T, F 3:15 pm - 7:00 pm; W, Th 2:15 pm - 6:00 pm (schedule may vary by 15 minutes depending on campus need)
Salary:
Pay $14.00 - 17.00 per hour (Dependant on experience)
Qualifications: Education/Experience:
Proficiency in writing, math, and Google applications (docs, sheets, forms, etc.)
Bi-lingual preferred but not required
Reliability, punctuality, and patience
Effective communication skills
Effective study skills and techniques
Education: High school or equivalent (Required)

APA’s West Valley City 2 campus, is a K-12 Title I public charter school. Approximately 75% of the students come from low-income homes and 95% of our students are on free/reduced lunch.
