The Valley Shore YMCA is seeking a friendly, reliable, and service-oriented (weekends) Fitness Support Associate to support our members on the fitness floor. This position plays a key role in promoting a clean, safe, and welcoming environment where members of all fitness levels can thrive.
Support members, keep the fitness floor safe, and help build a healthier community at the Valley Shore YMCA. You’ll be the positive presence that ensures members feel supported, equipment stays maintained, and the overall experience reflects the YMCA’s values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

What You’ll Do
Greet members and provide excellent customer service on the fitness floor.
Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of exercise areas and equipment.
Offer guidance on proper use of fitness equipment (training provided).
Monitor member activity and uphold Valley Shore YMCA safety standards.
Support wellness programs, events, and group fitness activities as needed.
Reporting equipment or facility concerns promptly to your supervisor.
Support wellness initiatives, classes, and events as needed.
Communicate effectively with staff and leadership about any maintenance or member concerns.
QualificationsWhat We’re Looking For
Outgoing, friendly personality and positive attitude.
Strong communication and people skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable and flexible with availability for evenings and weekends.
Willing to support and assist in other areas, including specialty programs, as needed.
Basic understanding of fitness equipment preferred (training provided).
CPR/AED certification preferred (Valley Shore YMCA can provide training).
Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 45 lbs.
Must be at least 16 years of age
Work Schedule
Part-time, flexible hours available (Includes Weekends and Evenings).
