Job Summary:

The Welcome Center Attendant helps maintain a safe environment by greeting and providing directions if needed to visitors, monitoring fire panel, maintaining traffic log, and securing assigned doors.

Essential Job Functions:

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Maintains punctuality and completes shift assignments.
Performs job with a neat, professional appearance and conducts themselves in a friendly, professional manner to provide quality customer service.
Monitors fire alarm system, maintains vehicle log and monitors traffic, gives directions, and any locking of doors. Locking of doors consists of locking up all assigned doors after 2nd shift and unlocking all assigned doors before 1st shift.
Communicates with residents, maintenance Dept. personal, and other personal in a proper manner.
Helps maintain and secure all areas of Salemtowne by reporting any maintenance/security issues.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Promotes & supports the Salemtowne Shines culture & philosophy.
Performs other duties as assigned.

 
Qualifications:
Required Skills/Abilities:

Good oral communication and interpersonal skills.
Possess and exhibits a strong positive attitude toward customer service and a genuine interest in geriatric care and uphold the philosophy of the community.
Excels in crisis management.
Proficient in reading, writing, and following written and verbal directions.

Ability to strive to do the best job possible and accountable for one’s own action.
Capability of handling routine problems effectively.
Detail-oriented.
Willingness to maintain a safety-first mindset.
Ability to work in a team environment.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED.
One (1) to two (2) years’ security experience.

Physical Requirements:

Capable of standing and walking short distances for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull objects up to 50 pounds.
Stoop and bend at the knees, twisting from side to side at the waist.
Reach above, below, and at shoulder level.
Sensory demands include vision correctable to 20/20, touch using fine finger movement/dexterity, smell, and hear correctable to normal range.

Work Environment:

Works in a clean, well-lighted gatehouse.

The 3rd shift Welcome Center Attendant works throughout the community closing and locking doors at night, making rounds every other hour, and unlocks doors at 6am. Possible work hazards include airborne particles, bloodborne pathogens, moving parts, offensive odors, muscular strains, injurious loud noises, and toxic chemicals/fumes.
