Schedule

16 hours per week, based on one of the following consistent schedules:

Option 1:
Friday: 11:00 AM–7:00 PM
Saturday: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

OR

Option 2:

Sunday: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Monday: 11:00 AM–7:00 PM

Candidates should be able to commit reliably to one of these schedules on an ongoing basis.

The Role

The Part-Time Housekeeper will be responsible for detailed housekeeping and helping maintain the home at a consistently high standard. The household values someone who notices what needs attention, works efficiently without sacrificing quality, and understands how to move thoughtfully through an active private home.

Success in this position requires excellent judgment, discretion, strong common sense, and a willingness to receive feedback and continually adapt to the household’s preferences and standards.

Core Responsibilities

• Detailed cleaning and upkeep of interior spaces

• Care for high-end finishes, surfaces, furnishings, and household items

• Laundry care, including washing, folding, steaming, and pressing

• Bed making and linen and towel changes

• Maintaining organization within closets, cabinets, and shared spaces

• Tidying and resetting common areas throughout the day

• Keeping the home polished, orderly, and ready for family use

• Monitoring household supplies and communicating replenishment needs

• Noticing and reporting maintenance or household concerns

• Occasional assistance with light entertaining and guest readiness

• Working collaboratively and respectfully with other household staff

The Right Fit

The strongest candidate will bring both excellent housekeeping skills and the professional maturity required to work successfully in a high-standard private household.

• 4+ years of experience in private households, luxury hospitality, or a comparable high-service environment

• High-energy, hardworking, and productive throughout the workday

• Exceptional attention to detail and pride in producing excellent work

• Highly professional, polished, discreet, and respectful of privacy

• Fluent in English with strong communication skills

• Receptive to feedback and able to adjust quickly to household preferences

• Reliable and consistent, with a strong sense of personal responsibility

• Proactive while understanding appropriate professional boundaries

• Strong common sense and the ability to anticipate what needs attention

• Able to “read the room” and work comfortably within an active, lived-in home

• Calm and composed when priorities shift

• Team-oriented and respectful when collaborating with other household staff

• Authorized to work in the U.S.

• Valid driver’s license and excellent references required

• Must live within a reasonable commuting distance of Atherton

Compensation

Up to $65/hour, depending on experience and qualifications

This is a regular, ongoing part-time position of 16 hours per week. No benefits are provided.
