SUMMARY:
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and oversight of warehouse operations, including the receipt, storage, movement, inventory control, picking, packing, and shipment of raw materials, supplies, and finished goods. This position ensures inventory accuracy, proper material flow, timely fulfillment of orders, and compliance with company quality and safety requirements.
The Warehouse Supervisor provides direction and support to warehouse personnel, coordinates workflow and material movement, monitors shipping and receiving activities, and promotes an organized, safe, and efficient warehouse environment. The position works closely with Production, Shipping, Purchasing, Quality, and other departments to ensure materials and finished goods are available when needed and shipments are completed accurately and on time.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Warehouse Operations & Inventory Management
Supervise, coordinate and assist in the execution of daily warehouse activities to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of assigned tasks.
Maintain accurate raw material, supplies, and finished goods inventory within the company's inventory management system, including SyteLine.
Monitor inventory transactions and material movements to ensure inventory records remain accurate and current.
Conduct and/or coordinate periodic cycle counts and investigate inventory discrepancies.
Evaluate inventory variances and assist in identifying and implementing appropriate corrective actions.
Ensure proper storage, identification, handling, and accountability of raw materials, supplies, and finished goods.
Monitor material flow and utilize First-In-First-Out (FIFO) practices where applicable.
Direct warehouse personnel in the relocation and movement of materials throughout the warehouse.
Ensure materials are distributed to Production accurately and in a timely manner.
Maintain the quality and condition of raw materials and finished goods by preventing damage, contamination, loss, or improper storage.
Ensure the warehouse remains clean, organized, and conducive to efficient operations.
Shipping & Receiving
Coordinate, oversee and assist in the execution, receipt and shipment of raw materials, supplies, and finished goods.
Verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments, including quantities, contents, weights, documentation, and labeling.
Ensure proper preparation of commercial and government shipments.
Utilize SyteLine shipping functions, including pick, pack, and ship, as required.
Prepare and/or oversee the preparation of shipping documentation and labels, including RFID labels when applicable.
Ensure proper labeling and pallet presentation of inbound and outbound shipments.
Report damaged, short, missing, or otherwise discrepant materials and shipments and coordinate appropriate resolution.
Coordinate incoming deliveries with the appropriate personnel.
Ensure orders are picked, packed, staged, and shipped accurately and according to customer and company requirements.
Support timely completion of customer, commercial, and government orders.
Team Leadership & Employee Coordination
Provide day-to-day direction and guidance to Warehouse personnel.
Assign, prioritize and participate in the execution of warehouse activities based on operational requirements, production needs, shipment schedules, and available resources.
Monitor work completion and provide feedback, coaching, and instruction as appropriate.
Train and assist employees in proper warehouse procedures, material handling, inventory practices, shipping and receiving requirements, and safety procedures.
Promote effective communication and teamwork within the Warehouse and with other departments.
Address operational issues and escalate personnel, safety, quality, or performance concerns as appropriate.
Support a respectful, inclusive, and productive work environment.
Safety & Material Handling
Ensure all warehouse activities are performed in accordance with company safety policies and applicable regulations.
Ensure appropriate safety precautions are followed during forklift and other material-handling equipment operations.
Ensure daily forklift inspections are completed and documented.
Coordinate forklift servicing and maintenance with appropriate management and/or maintenance personnel.
Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely when required and within the employee's training and authorization.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and movement of materials to minimize injury, damage, and loss.
Promptly report unsafe conditions, equipment concerns, accidents, incidents, or potential hazards.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Quality & Process Improvement
Ensure warehouse activities support company quality standards and customer requirements.
Maintain accurate and complete warehouse records and documentation.
Identify opportunities to improve shipping, receiving, inventory control, material flow, and warehouse organization.
Recommend and implement process improvements.
Assist with investigations involving inventory discrepancies, damaged materials, shipping errors, or other warehouse-related issues.
Support corrective and preventive actions related to warehouse operations.
Maintain appropriate traceability and accountability of materials and finished goods.
Support company ISO quality management system requirements applicable to warehouse operations.
Administrative & Other Responsibilities
Maintain appropriate warehouse records, reports, and documentation.
Assist with administrative and reporting duties related to warehouse operations.
Communicate inventory, shipping, receiving, and material concerns to the COO in a timely manner.
Coordinate with Production to ensure availability and timely delivery of required materials.
Coordinate with the appropriate departments regarding incoming deliveries and outgoing shipments.
Participate in meetings, training, audits, inventory activities, and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications: QUALIFICATION: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (equivalent education/and or experience may be substituted)
Equivalent education and/or experience may be substituted where appropriate.
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher in business, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of three (3) years of warehouse, inventory, shipping/receiving, manufacturing, or related experience.
Prior experience providing direction, training, or supervision to warehouse personnel preferred.
Forklift certification/license and demonstrated ability to safely operate a forklift in accordance with company requirements.
Working knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, shipping and receiving procedures, and material-handling practices.
Experience with inventory management or ERP systems; experience with SyteLine preferred.
Ability to understand and perform pick, pack, and ship functions.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to investigate inventory discrepancies and identify potential causes and corrective actions.
Ability to prioritize work and coordinate multiple activities in a fast-paced environment.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with employees, supervisors, managers, vendors, customers, and other stakeholders.
Basic computer skills and ability to learn and utilize company software and systems.

The primary goal of the AbilityOne program is to employ and create training opportunities for people who are blind or severely handicapped. The means of accomplishing this goal is to encourage Government agencies to purchase selected products and services from NIB and NISH affiliates.
