The Vice President of Purchasing leads all procurement, inventory planning, and vendor management activities for a $1B+ purchasing organization. This executive role is responsible for optimizing inventory turns, fill rates, working capital, and vendor profitability while ensuring product availability and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Lead purchasing, inventory management, and demand planning strategies.
Manage inventory performance, including turns, fill rates, aging inventory, and stock availability.
Negotiate vendor rebates, MDF, growth incentives, and strategic purchasing agreements.
Build and maintain executive-level manufacturer relationships.
Drive profitability through inventory optimization, forecasting accuracy, and working capital management.
Lead, develop, and mentor purchasing and inventory teams.
Partner with Sales, Finance, Product Management, and Operations to support growth and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

10+ years of purchasing, inventory, or supply chain leadership experience.
Proven success managing large-scale inventory investments and vendor partnerships.
Strong financial, analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills.
Experience in Pro AV, technology, or distribution environments preferred.

QualificationsWhat we look for in a candidate:

Bachelor's Degree
10+ years relevant purchasing and product management experience
Distribution experience, preferably in consumer electronics and/or appliance product industry
Working knowledge of Word and Excel (advanced capabilities with these tools would be advantageous)
Driven and Motivated to continue to source products, drive the right product mix and management function at Almo.
Excellent organization and communication skills, with experience communicating across groups with varying degrees of technical background.
History of strong leadership to drive recruiting and build teams.
Proven ability to build strong cross-functional relationships.
Possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, the drive to make that vision a reality, and technically credible to lead teams with significant product expertise
