Volunteer Resources Coordinator, Volunteer Resources, PT Day

Position Summary

Position has primary responsibility for the coordination and administration of clinical learner onboarding across the Valley Health System. The position serves as a key resource for ensuring clinical learners meet organizational requirements prior to participation in clinical education experiences and supports a consistent, compliant onboarding process across the health system.

The position is responsible for onboarding and coordinating a broad range of clinical learners, including nursing students, medical students, physician assistant students, clinical interns, and other allied health and advanced practice learners. Responsibilities include reviewing, processing, and approving clinical learner documentation and files through DISA/Complio; coordinating required onboarding activities and documentation; communicating onboarding requirements and expectations to students and academic institutions; and ensuring all required documentation and clearances are completed prior to the learner’s start date.

The position may also assist with the coordination and onboarding of undergraduate shadowing experiences, including Physician Shadowing, Nurse Shadowing, and Physician Assistant Shadowing, in collaboration with appropriate clinical departments and academic or community partners.

Additional responsibilities include student and learner recruitment, interviewing, conducting onboarding sessions, scheduling, community engagement, public speaking, community service initiatives, and providing guidance and support to students, volunteers, and clinical learners throughout the Valley Health System. The position represents Valley Health System at community and Volunteer & Student Services events and works collaboratively with clinical departments, academic institutions, community partners, and other internal stakeholders to support a consistent, compliant, and positive educational experience for students, volunteers, and clinical learners.

Education

BA or BS degree required

Experience

• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in healthcare, education, student services, volunteer services, clinical education, program coordination, or a related field.
• Experience coordinating student, clinical learner, intern, volunteer, or educational programs, preferably within a healthcare or academic setting.
• Experience managing onboarding, credentialing, compliance, or documentation requirements for students, interns, volunteers, or other individuals entering a healthcare environment.
• Experience working collaboratively with clinical departments, academic institutions, students/learners, and internal stakeholders.
• Experience conducting onboarding sessions, providing presentations, and communicating requirements and expectations to diverse audiences.
• Experience with Volgistics, VSLO, and/or DISA/Complio is preferred.

Skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Forms, Excel, Outlook, and other electronic tracking and documentation systems.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
• Ability to make presentations to community groups, hospital staff, and organizational leaders.
• Excellent computer skills and ability to learn and effectively utilize various software and electronic systems.
• Demonstrated strong administrative, organizational, and program development abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and consistently meet deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment when addressing issues and resolving concerns.
• Ability to provide effective conflict resolution and handle sensitive or challenging situations professionally.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with clinical departments, academic institutions, community partners, and other internal stakeholders.

Pay Range: $27.94 - $34.93 (per hour)
