Job Description
At Best Christmas Ever, we believe the greatest gift is giving. That’s why we’re on a mission to transform lives through generosity during the Christmas season. Through a nomination process, we create an unforgettable Christmas for families who have fallen on hard times, through no fault of their own. Our goal is straightforward: to help them transition from feeling helpless to hopeful. As a Volunteer Captain, you will lead the process to create this lasting Christmas experience!
YOUR IMPACT
- PROVIDE AN UNFORGETTABLE CHRISTMAS: Through networking and fundraising efforts, ensure a “Best Christmas Ever” is provided to a family going through a rough time. Craft a Christmas reveal to surprise the family to present this Christmas experience by coordinating the fundraising of $5,000 for the family and coordinating the gift management of 3-10 gifts per family member.
- CREATE PARTNERSHIPS: Our Christmas experience is not created by an individual, but a community created through creative networking, media partnerships, and relationships. As a Volunteer Captain, you will develop excitement for our purpose, mission, and values by sharing our mission and purpose with clubs, community associations, places of worship, and other groups.
- FINAL DETAILS: Ensure we remain in compliance by submitting all paperwork on time.
YOUR SKILLS
- KNOWLEDGE: Prior experience in a volunteer fundraising role is highly preferred.
- SKILLS: A commitment to integrity in all you do. A values-driven approach and passion for giving back. Strong organizational skills with a proactive, self-starting mindset. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- ABILITY: This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity starting immediately until Christmas, with the opportunity to provide a remarkable Christmas for a new family each year. A felony / misdemeanor background check is required.

Best Christmas Ever (BCE) partners with small businesses as well as some of the most well-known organizations in the country, such as the MN Vikings to create not only an unforgettable moment and evening for these families, but to come alongside them with the intent to set them up for long-term success and well-being.
Our goals are to 1) continue to increase the number of families to receive the Best Christmas Ever each year 2) deepen our partnerships with, and inspire small, medium, and large organizations to make a life-altering impact on families in their towns and cities, 3) Continue to develop the BCE Family Pillars to create long-term consistency and success in the families' Faith, Family, Finance, and Health, and 4) take BCE to a global level, breaking down borders and lifting up families who have fallen on hard times all around the world!
A family that would qualify to receive a Best Christmas Ever has unfortunately experienced something this year that would have made this Christmas especially difficult, they have school-aged children in the home, and they have been nominated by somebody else, since this must be a complete surprise. Family nominations are accepted from September 1st through November 15th at www.bcemovement.org.
