Virginia Lead Cleaning Technician – Manassas and Warrenton

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Starting Hours: Approximately 12 hours per week, with additional hours for call-out coverage

Position Summary
KMD Contracting Services, LLC is seeking a dependable, experienced, and flexible Virginia
Lead Cleaning Technician to support and oversee cleaning operations at our Manassas and
Warrenton locations.
This is a working lead position. The selected candidate will perform assigned cleaning duties,
monitor service quality, assist other cleaning employees, coordinate call-out coverage, and help
ensure uninterrupted client service.
Candidates must be available to work during the day in Manassas and during the evening
in Warrenton. Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to both locations are required.
Schedule and Availability
The position will begin with:
 Three scheduled workdays per week.
 Approximately four hours per scheduled day.
 Approximately 12 scheduled hours per week.
 Daytime work at the Manassas location.
 Evening work at the Warrenton location.
 Additional paid hours when call-out or emergency coverage is required.
Schedule flexibility is an essential requirement of this position. The selected candidate must
be able to adjust their schedule when reasonably necessary to support both locations and respond
to employee call-outs.
Specific workdays and reporting times will be discussed during the interview.

Manassas, Warrenton, and surrounding Virginia communities.
The employee’s scheduled hours, workdays, responsibilities, and assigned locations may
increase based on:
 KMD’s acquisition of additional Virginia contracts.
 Client and operational needs.
 The employee’s performance, dependability, and availability.
 The employee’s ability to successfully lead and support Virginia field operations.
Additional hours and workdays are not guaranteed, but the position offers an opportunity to grow
with the company.
Primary Responsibilities
 Perform assigned commercial cleaning duties at the Manassas and Warrenton locations.
 Travel between both Virginia locations as operationally necessary.
 Work daytime hours in Manassas and evening hours in Warrenton.
 Serve as the first point of contact when a Virginia employee calls out, expects to be late,
or cannot complete an assigned shift.
 Contact approved backup employees to locate replacement coverage.
 Personally fill in and perform the cleaning assignment when an employee calls out and no
approved backup employee is available.
 Communicate schedule changes and site instructions to assigned employees.
 Conduct routine quality-control inspections.
 Identify cleaning deficiencies and ensure corrective work is completed.
 Provide routine guidance, coaching, and onsite training to cleaning employees.
 Help train new employees and approved backup employees.
 Monitor cleaning supplies and report low inventory before supplies run out.
 Report damaged, missing, or unsafe cleaning equipment.
 Respond professionally to routine client-service concerns.
 Escalate serious, repeated, or unresolved issues to the President/CEO.
 Confirm and report the actual hours worked by employees under the Lead’s oversight.
 Maintain timely and professional communication with KMD management.
Call-Out Coverage Requirement
When an assigned employee calls out and no approved backup employee is available, the
Virginia Lead Cleaning Technician will be expected to cover the open shift whenever reasonably
possible.
Call-out coverage may require the employee to report to Manassas during the day or Warrenton
during the evening. Candidates who cannot work at both locations or who have limited schedule
flexibility may not be suitable for this position.
All authorized call-out coverage hours must be recorded and will be paid at the employee’s
applicable hourly rate. The number of additional coverage hours will vary and is not guaranteed.
Required Qualifications
 Previous commercial cleaning or janitorial experience.
 Flexible availability for daytime and evening assignments.
 Reliable transportation and the ability to work at both Manassas and Warrenton.
 Willingness and ability to fill in when another employee calls out.
 Dependable attendance and punctuality.
 Ability to work independently and provide direction to other employees.
 Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
 Ability to respond calmly and professionally to staffing and client-service concerns.
 Ability to use a mobile telephone, text messaging, WhatsApp, email, or other approved
communication methods.
 Ability to maintain confidential employee, company, and client information.
 Ability to follow all client security, safety, and access requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
 Previous experience as a lead cleaner, shift leader, site supervisor, or janitorial supervisor.
 Experience coordinating employee schedules or replacement coverage.
 Experience conducting quality-control inspections.
 Experience training cleaning employees.
Physical Requirements
Candidates must be able to perform the physical duties associated with commercial cleaning,
including:
 Standing and walking for extended periods.
 Bending, reaching, stooping, and kneeling.
 Using commercial cleaning tools and equipment.
 Lifting and carrying cleaning supplies and equipment.
 Performing cleaning duties for the duration of an assigned shift.
