Vice President of Technology

Job Details: Job Location: Augusta Campus - Augusta, GA, Education Level: Bachelor's Degree, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Travel Percentage: Up to 25%, Job Shift: Any, Job Category: Goodwill Retail, The Vice President of Technology serves as GIMG-CSRA's senior technology executive and strategic business partner, responsible for the vision, strategy, execution, security, integration, and continuous advancement of technology across Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia and the CSRA and its affiliated enterprises. The role ensures technology advances mission impact, operational excellence, revenue diversification, scalability, data-informed decision-making, and the experience of employees, students, donors, customers, and other stakeholders.

The Vice President leads an internal, multi-site technology organization and provides enterprise oversight for technology infrastructure, systems and applications, data and reporting, cybersecurity, business continuity, artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, Salesforce, systems integration, and major digital transformation initiatives. The position supports GIMG-CSRA's diverse operating environment, including Goodwill retail and donation operations, Helms College, Edgar's Hospitality Group, Career Centers and mission services, contract services, and administrative functions.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

Technology Strategy & Executive Leadership

Develop, communicate, and execute a multi-year enterprise technology strategy and roadmap aligned with GIMG-CSRA's strategic plan, mission, growth objectives, and evolving business needs.
Serve as the principal technology advisor to the President and executive leadership, translating organizational priorities into practical, secure, scalable, and sustainable technology solutions.
Lead digital transformation and technology-enabled business improvement across all operating divisions and locations.
Evaluate emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and automation, and lead responsible adoption where they can improve productivity, service delivery, learning, customer engagement, and organizational effectiveness.

Enterprise Technology Operations & Cybersecurity

Provide executive oversight for infrastructure, networking, cloud platforms, telecommunications, end-user support, enterprise applications, systems integration, data/reporting, cybersecurity, and technology service delivery.
Establish and maintain a strong cybersecurity and information-security program, including risk assessment, access controls, incident response, security awareness, vendor risk, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
Lead enterprise system implementations, upgrades, migrations, integrations, and modernization initiatives across CRM, ERP/financial, HRIS, learning, retail, hospitality, donor, customer-facing, and operational platforms.
Establish technology governance, project and portfolio disciplines, service-level expectations, system availability standards, performance metrics, and project milestones that drive accountability and continuous improvement.

Data, Analytics & Salesforce Leadership

Lead enterprise data strategy and governance, including data quality, accessibility, security, responsible use, reporting, analytics, business intelligence, and reliable decision-support capabilities.
Provide executive oversight of the Director of Salesforce and the organization's Salesforce ecosystem, ensuring platform strategy, governance, integrations, data quality, adoption, reporting, and development priorities support enterprise and mission objectives.
Partner with business leaders to use organizational data as a strategic asset and reduce unnecessary data and application silos.

Enterprise POS, Loyalty, CRM & Revenue Innovation

Subject to available grant and organizational funding, lead the strategy, design, development, implementation, and scaling of a new replicable Goodwill umbrella point-of-sale (POS) ecosystem serving Edgar's Hospitality Group venues, Attended Donation Center (ADC) donor sites, and all Goodwill retail locations.
Design the platform and supporting integrations to create a connected enterprise experience across GIMG-CSRA's social enterprises, with appropriate security, payment-card compliance, data governance, reporting, and scalability for potential replication.
Lead development and integration of an Edgar's Club loyalty program that connects customer engagement across participating social enterprises and supports cross-enterprise loyalty and relationship strategies.
Ensure appropriate customer, donor, and constituent contacts generated through enterprise platforms can flow, with appropriate consent, privacy controls, and data governance, into the Goodwill Works Foundation CRM to strengthen philanthropic engagement and diversified fundraising revenue.
Develop the platform roadmap, governance model, business case, implementation plan, vendor/build strategy, grant-aligned milestones, and measurable outcomes in partnership with Finance, Operations, Hospitality, Retail, Marketing, Mission, and Foundation leadership.
Build the solution with replication, interoperability, documentation, sustainability, and potential broader Goodwill-network application in mind.

Cross-Functional Business Partnership

•  Partner with Helms College leadership to ensure technology supports academic operations, student services, learning management, distance education, regulatory/accreditation needs, and future educational innovation.

•  Partner with leaders across retail, hospitality, mission services, contract services, finance, human resources, marketing, fundraising, and operations to modernize systems, improve interoperability, and create enterprise-wide efficiencies.

•  Communicate technology priorities, risks, progress, and value clearly to non-technical leaders and stakeholders.

People, Financial & Vendor Leadership

Lead, coach, develop, and evaluate the internal technology team; establish clear accountability, service standards, succession planning, and organizational capacity for current and future needs.
Develop and manage technology operating and capital budgets; establish investment priorities and ensure responsible stewardship of organizational resources.
Oversee technology vendors, consultants, contracts, licensing, service-level agreements, and outsourced solutions; negotiate and manage partnerships to maximize performance, security, value, and accountability.
Maintain current knowledge of technology trends, cybersecurity threats, AI, data practices, retail and hospitality technology, higher education technology, and Goodwill network innovations.
Perform other duties and enterprise initiatives as assigned by the President.

REPORTS TO

Executive Vice President of Innovation & Operations
Qualifications: Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master's degree or other relevant advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive technology leadership experience, including significant responsibility for enterprise strategy, people leadership, systems, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data, and major technology initiatives; executive or senior-leadership experience strongly preferred.
Demonstrated success developing and executing multi-year technology roadmaps and leading complex digital transformation, systems integration, modernization, and organizational change.
Demonstrated experience leading technology in a multi-site or distributed operating environment.
Experience with CRM platforms and enterprise customer/constituent data environments; Salesforce leadership or governance experience strongly preferred.
Experience with point-of-sale systems, customer loyalty platforms, payment ecosystems, or other customer-facing transactional technologies strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong knowledge of cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, networking, enterprise applications, systems architecture and integration, data governance, analytics/business intelligence, disaster recovery, business continuity, vendor management, and technology financial management.
Demonstrated ability to evaluate and implement AI, automation, and emerging technology solutions responsibly and with a business-focused approach.
Proven ability to communicate complex technology concepts to non-technical audiences and advise senior executives and cross-functional leaders.
Strong strategic thinking, business acumen, project execution, change leadership, and budget and resource management skills.
Ability to lead across a diverse enterprise spanning retail, hospitality/restaurant, higher education, workforce development, nonprofit services, fundraising, and multi-site operations.
Experience with Salesforce, Microsoft 365/Power Platform, ERP/financial systems, HRIS platforms, learning management systems, business intelligence tools, and cloud technologies preferred.
Experience designing scalable or replicable technology platforms, particularly involving POS, CRM, loyalty, constituent engagement, data integration, or multi-location operations, preferred.
Formal project/program management, cybersecurity, cloud, data, or technology governance certification (e.g., PMP, CISSP, CISM, ITIL, or comparable) is a plus.
Ability to travel regularly throughout GIMG-CSRA's Middle Georgia and CSRA service area and periodically for vendor, professional, or Goodwill network business.
