Vice President, Field Sales

JOB PURPOSE:

The Vice President, Field Sales is responsible for leading BayWa r.e. Solar Systems' field sales organization to drive profitable revenue growth through exceptional customer relationships, strategic vendor partnerships, and disciplined commercial execution.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this executive leads the Regional Sales Leaders and Outside Sales Representatives to accelerate customer acquisition, improve customer retention, expand wallet share, and grow market share across all regions. The Vice President, Field Sales serves as the executive leader for customer engagement, ensuring the field sales organization delivers a consistent, high-value customer experience while executing the company's go-to-market strategy.

Working closely with the Vice President, Revenue Operations, Business Development, Product Strategy, Operations, Finance, Marketing, and Supply Chain, this role ensures customer needs, strategic vendor priorities, and commercial initiatives are effectively executed in the field to achieve profitable, sustainable growth.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Leads and develops the company's field sales organization, including Regional Sales Leaders and Outside Sales Representatives.
• Drives achievement of revenue, gross profit, customer acquisition, customer retention, wallet share, and market share objectives.
• Executes the company's go-to-market strategy through disciplined field sales leadership and customer engagement.
• Develops and maintains executive relationships with strategic customers and serves as the executive sponsor for key accounts.
• Builds executive-level relationships with strategic manufacturing partners to align joint business objectives and accelerate growth.
• Conducts regular customer and vendor business reviews to strengthen partnerships and identify growth opportunities.
• Coaches and develops Regional Sales Leaders through regular performance reviews, field engagement, and leadership development.
• Creates a culture of accountability, urgency, collaboration, customer focus, and continuous improvement throughout the field sales organization.
• Partners with the Vice President, Revenue Operations to improve forecasting accuracy, sales effectiveness, customer responsiveness, and commercial execution.
• Collaborates with Marketing, eCommerce, and Inside Sales to ensure a seamless customer experience across all customer touchpoints.
• Partners with Product Strategy, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain to improve customer satisfaction, inventory alignment, and execution of commercial priorities.
• Represents BayWa r.e. Solar Systems with customers, strategic vendors, industry associations, and key market partners.
• Identifies emerging market opportunities, competitive trends, and customer needs to support continued business growth.
• Serves as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, contributing to company strategy and long-term commercial planning.
• All other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Management, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive executive sales leadership experience.
• Experience leading multi-region field sales organizations within distribution, renewable energy, manufacturing, industrial, construction, or related industries.
• Demonstrated success driving revenue growth, gross profit, customer retention, and market expansion.
• Experience developing and leading Regional Sales Leaders and geographically dispersed sales teams.
• Experience building strategic customer and manufacturer relationships.
• Experience partnering effectively with Revenue Operations, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Product Management, and Supply Chain.
• Proficiency with CRM systems, ERP platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, and sales reporting tools.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Regularly required to sit, talk, use repetitive motion, type, and hear.
• Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle and feel, and reach with hands and arms.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Occasionally required to bend, kneel, crouch, climb stairs, and reach overhead.  

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

• Approximately 60%+ travel to support customers, field sales teams, strategic vendor partners, leadership meetings, and industry events.
