Cary Grove Animal Hospital is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Part-Time or Full-Time Customer Service Representative. We are a busy veterinary practice dedicated to providing exceptional care to our animal patients and exceptional service to their owners. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about animals and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.

Position: Part-Time or Full-Time Veterinary Receptionist - NO WEEKENDS

Location: Cary, IL

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Job Description:

VETERINARY/ANIMAL HOSPITAL CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE/ RECEPTIONIST Cary Grove Animal Hospital. Cary, Illinois

You love pets, but do you love people? Part time receptionist needed for animal hospital. 20-28 hours per week. Additional hours may be available to the right candidate.

Animal Hospital/Veterinary experience preferred, but will consider individuals with a minimum of 1 year of other office receptionist experience. Receptionists are expected to have excellent customer service skills, communication skills, be efficient, computer savvy, maintain a professional appearance, and work in a team setting.

Computer experience and ability to learn quickly is important. Knowledge of AviMark veterinary software a big plus. We have a fully computerized practice. Our receptionists are expected to do more than answer phones and schedule appointments. Basic knowledge of animal hospital protocols and being able to triage phone calls is very important. Superb phone skills are vital to our client oriented practice.

We offer a starting hourly wage of $18-20/hour depending on animal hospital experience level. We are looking for someone long term.

Responsibilities:

• Greet and welcome clients and their pets with a friendly and professional demeanor.
• Schedule appointments, surgeries, and follow-up visits, ensuring efficient and organized management of the appointment schedule.
• Answer incoming phone calls and address client inquiries, providing accurate information regarding services, pricing and general pet care.
• Check-in patients, verify client information, and update medical records as necessary.
• Collaborate with veterinary technicians and doctors to ensure smooth patient flow and timely completion of tasks.
• Process client payments and manage financial transactions accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area, waiting room, and front desk
• Uphold client confidentiality and ensure compliance with all relevant privacy regulations.
• Provide support and assistance to the veterinary team as needed.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a veterinary setting.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and empathetically with clients and colleagues.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
• Proficiency in using computer systems and software applications.
• A genuine passion for animals and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations, ensuring a positive experience for both clients and patients.
• Our hospital hours are Mondays and Wednesdays 8a-7p, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays 8a-6p.
• Experience with Avimark preferred but not required.
