Escapology Framingham is looking for a hands-on Venue Manager who can lead a team, solve problems, and create unforgettable guest experiences.

This is definitely not a sit-behind-a-desk job. One minute you may be coaching an employee or organizing a private event; the next, you could be greeting guests, serving a drink, resetting a room, fixing a prop, or helping a team escape with seconds to spare.

Your Mission

Lead the Team and Run the Venue

Take ownership of daily operations, including guest service, staffing, safety, cleanliness, sales, and overall venue performance.
Open and close the venue independently while following security, cash-handling, and safety procedures.
Schedule and lead a team of approximately 10–15 employees.
Keep every shift covered—and jump in when a qualified replacement cannot be found.
Recruit, interview, and hire new team members with support from Human Resources and the Area Manager.
Train new hires and make sure they are ready to confidently run their own games.
Coach, motivate, and develop employees through regular feedback and follow-up.
Celebrate great work and address performance or conduct concerns promptly and fairly.
Review timecards and time-off requests accurately and on time.
Monitor labor and adjust staffing based on business needs.
Attend weekly manager meetings and follow through on action items.
Keep the team updated on policies, promotions, training, room changes, and operational priorities.
Maintain required training and alcohol-service compliance records.
Track sales, guest counts, comps, gift certificates, waste, overtime, product costs, repairs, and other key results.

Create an Experience Worth Talking About

Welcome guests, complete check-in, deliver pre-game instructions, game master rooms, and celebrate their escape—or near escape!
Use Escapology’s M3 software to monitor games and deliver perfectly timed hints and clues.
Reset rooms accurately and efficiently so the next adventure is ready to begin.
Create an upbeat, fast-paced, and fun atmosphere for guests and coworkers.
Turn guest concerns into positive experiences and escalate serious issues when needed.
Manage venue emails, phone calls, reservations, donations, event payments, and catering arrangements.
Book and oversee private events, making sure every detail is covered.
Monitor and respond to online reviews while encouraging the team to collect guest feedback.
Drive sales by promoting additional games, replay opportunities, beverages, merchandise, and events.
Mix and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
Represent Escapology at community events and help spread the word about upcoming adventures.

Keep the Mystery Running

Keep the venue and every game room at 100% Escapology franchise standards.
Maintain inventory of beverages, merchandise, event supplies, cleaning products, and other venue essentials.
Purchase approved supplies while staying within budget.
Keep the venue clean, safe, secure, and ready for guests.
Maintain the repair list and tackle routine maintenance and basic prop or puzzle repairs.
Troubleshoot technical issues before they become game-ending mysteries.
Escalate advanced repairs, IT problems, safety concerns, and unresolved issues to the appropriate team.
Perform other duties as assigned—because in an escape room, unexpected challenges are part of the adventure!

Qualifications: To perform this role effectively, an individual must possess the following qualifications: 

Confident in public speaking and group interactions.
Capable of multitasking and managing high-pressure situations.
Proactive and able to complete tasks independently.
Strong teamwork skills.
Good oral & written communication skills.
Proficient in project management and organization.
Able to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Must have reliable transportation. 
Must be at least 21 years old.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Employment is subject to successfully completing a Background Check and/or CORI Screening.

Education/Experience

High school diploma or equivalent.
Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
TIPS certification required; training may be provided.

Work Environment & Physical Demands
This is a fast-paced environment with a moderate noise level. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell.  The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to ten pounds. The employee must have good close and distance vision and the ability to focus between the two.
