Job Description
About Casper Studios
We’re an AI services firm that helps companies figure out where and how to use AI. We’ve bootstrapped Casper Studios to roughly 40 people, worked with 30+ clients, and done deals with some of the largest companies, PE funds, and model providers.
The reason comes down to how we work with clients. Before we build anything, we listen, understand the business, and help them figure out the highest-leverage way to get started on their AI journey.
About the Role
We are hiring a UX/UI Designer who can plug into live build teams and move quickly. This position will take rough requirements and turn them into a clean, buildable interface within a short timeline. There will rarely be a perfect brief and a long runway. This role sits right next to engineers, owns the UX/UI surface end to end, and raises the bar on how our work looks and feels.
The engagement will begin as a flexible structure and can grow into something bigger as the work grows and we find fit. If this sounds good to you, we would love for you to apply.
What You’ll Do
-
Design and ship the UI/UX for AI products we build with clients, from core app flows to brand-new features
-
Work shoulder to shoulder with engineers in fast build cycles, turning rough requirements into usable product quickly
-
Own the full surface: information architecture, interaction design, and high-fidelity UI in Figma
-
Design for AI-native experiences, reading and review views, agent interactions, chat versus structured surfaces, and the states that come with probabilistic output
-
Jump across multiple product builds at once and keep quality high without slowing the team down
-
Translate messy stakeholder input into clear, shippable design, and know when to push back on scope
-
Establish lightweight design patterns and a reusable system so we stop redrawing the same things across projects
-
Own end-to-end user flows and information architecture for complex, data-dense products
-
Decide what to surface and what to hold back, apply progressive disclosure so users aren't buried under information-heavy AI output
What You’ll Bring
-
A strong design portfolio, with real shipped software, not just concept work
-
Fluency in Figma and modern UI craft; you can go from wireframe to polished, buildable UI fast
-
Comfort designing for AI products and for requirements that shift as the product gets real
-
Ability to work directly with engineers and make pragmatic tradeoffs to get things shipped
-
Strong judgment on when something needs to be pixel-perfect and when it just needs to move
-
High agency, low ego, fast, and reliable under deadline, people trust you to run with things
-
Daily usage of AI tools in your design workflow
Nice To Haves
-
Experience building or maintaining a design system
-
Enough front-end familiarity to read code and tweak UI directly (e.g., Tailwind, simple component edits)
-
Range across multiple verticals such as finance, healthcare, or customer experience
-
Experience in HR tech (or a similarly complex, workflow-heavy B2B domain)
Why This Role Is Hard To Fill
Someone from a large design org may be used to clean briefs, comfortable timelines, and a lot of processes. A pure visual designer may struggle with product ambiguity and engineering constraints. The right person is senior enough to have ownership and make good calls alone, but hands-on and fast enough to be in the weeds with engineers every day.
You Might Be A Fit If You…
-
Have been an embedded or forward-deployed designer at an agency, studio, or startup and are used to plugging into a team and moving
-
Have shipped the UI for AI or data-heavy products and understand how those experiences differ from standard SaaS
-
Are a strong freelancer or contractor who likes variety and fast cycles across multiple builds
-
Have owned projects end to end and can point to what you shipped and why it worked
-
Are familiar with making information-dense B2B tools feel genuinely simple
-
You've designed AI-integrated products, ideally in HR tech
Logistics
-
Fully remote. We have team members across North America and internationally, mostly overlapping North American time zones. Work when and where you want, as long as the work gets done
-
Compensation calibrated to your location and seniority - we'll talk comp and align on specifics early
Casper Studios is an AI services firm that helps businesses implement AI across their operations and build external-facing AI products. The team embeds directly with companies to design, build, and ship AI systems — not just strategy decks, but working products that go live.
The firm has worked across a wide range of industries and company sizes. In entertainment, Casper partnered with Netflix and Doritos on a campaign that handled over 400,000 calls. In financial services, clients include a $2B AUM hedge fund, a $1T+ asset manager, a $20B AUM RIA, TZP Group, a $90B alternative asset manager, and a $1B+ fintech. In healthcare, the team has worked with a $10B vision care company, Power to Decide, and a telehealth platform. Other clients span legal (an AI-first IP law firm), tech and SaaS (Kit, AlphaStory), enterprise (a $100B+ Japanese conglomerate, a $1B+ events and rewards company), and PE portfolio companies.
The work ranges from AI-powered customer service transformation to building full AI products from scratch — voice agents, chat systems, internal copilots, and workflow automation. Casper doesn’t just advise; the team writes the code, ships the product, and stays embedded through launch and iteration.
The team is led by Jay Singh (Founder & CEO, former LinkedIn — 5.5 years), Derek Gibbs (COO, Wharton MBA, former PwC Strategy&), and Kelly Zhang (Head of Product). The broader team brings experience from LinkedIn, Amazon, PwC Strategy&, Accenture, Bain, and Elliott Management — blending product, engineering, and strategy expertise to move fast with enterprise-grade quality.
Casper partners with companies like Anthropic (Claude Chat, Cowork, Code), ElevenLabs, LiveKit, and others to help them implement their platforms into their businesses and products.
