UX Prototyper

Description

Our client is seeking a UX Prototyper to support a strategic initiative focused on modernizing and enhancing a large-scale digital platform experience. This role will help transform ideas into interactive, high-fidelity prototypes that bring clarity to complex workflows and enable faster, more informed decision-making.

You will work as part of an embedded, cross-functional team that includes designers, researchers, product managers, and engineers. The team supports multiple active workstreams, including user onboarding, integrations, user profile management, and AI-assisted experiences.

In this role, you will take early-stage concepts and evolve them into tangible prototypes that can be tested, reviewed, and refined in real time. Success requires a strong balance of design craftsmanship, creativity, and initiative.

You will not be working from fully defined requirements. Instead, you will actively contribute to shaping solutions, exploring concepts, and using prototyping as a tool to drive collaboration and alignment across stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Create interactive, high-fidelity prototypes that communicate user flows, interactions, and product concepts.
• Translate complex workflows into intuitive experiences that can be easily understood and validated by stakeholders.
• Collaborate with designers, researchers, product teams, and engineers to rapidly explore and iterate on solutions.
• Bring concepts to life through motion design, transitions, and microinteractions that enhance user experiences.
• Transform early-stage wireframes and mockups into interactive prototypes suitable for testing and review.
• Support multiple concurrent initiatives in a fast-paced, agile environment.
• Present design solutions and clearly communicate rationale and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Partner with engineering teams to ensure prototype concepts align with technical implementation considerations.
• Contribute to experience strategy, concept exploration, and stakeholder alignment activities.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience creating interactive prototypes and user experiences using modern design and prototyping tools.
• Strong visual design and interaction design skills.
• Ability to incorporate motion design, transitions, and microinteractions to elevate user experiences.
• Experience transforming early-stage concepts into fully interactive user flows.
• Solid understanding of front-end implementation considerations and collaboration with engineering teams.
• Experience managing multiple projects or workstreams simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain design decisions clearly.
• Experience working within Agile, Scrum, or sprint-based delivery models.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience using AI-assisted design and development tools.
• Background in conversational experiences, chat interfaces, guided workflows, or AI-powered user experiences.
• Experience working with integrations, APIs, onboarding journeys, or complex user workflows.
• Knowledge of design systems and scalable component-based design practices.
• Experience with B2B platforms, ecosystem-based products, marketplaces, or enterprise software environments.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Morrisville, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $70.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
