PRN Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Join our team as a PRN Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) and help patients regain independence and improve their quality of life. Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, you will provide skilled, patient-centered treatment designed to improve strength, mobility, coordination, and the ability to safely perform activities of daily living.

Responsibilities

• Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Provide therapeutic activities and exercises to improve patients’ strength, coordination, mobility, and functional independence.
• Assist patients with developing or restoring skills needed for daily living and self-care.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate changes or concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic activities, adaptive techniques, and equipment use.
• Follow infection-control practices and standard precautions during all patient-care activities.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and members of the interdisciplinary care team.
• Support the agency’s mission, policies, and standards of care.

Qualifications

• Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license in the state of practice
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• Current CPR certification
• Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance
• Home health or skilled nursing facility experience preferred
• Homecare Homebase experience preferred
• Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, crawl, squat, and kneel as required when providing patient care.
• Ability to lift, carry, pull, or push up to 100 pounds, with assistance or appropriate equipment when necessary.
