As US Military Compliance System Manager, you will lead the development, implementation, and oversight of our global US Military Compliance System program, helping ensure the movement of products, technical data, software, and services is managed with confidence, accuracy, and integrity.

This is an opportunity to serve as the organization’s subject matter expert for export controls, licensing, sanctions compliance, and regulatory requirements while partnering closely with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, Program Management, Sales, Legal, and executive leadership to support business objectives without compromising compliance standards.

⚙️ What You Will Do?

US Military Compliance System Program Leadership

Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing management of a comprehensive US Military Compliance System Program.
Establish clear policies, procedures, and internal controls for export-controlled products, technical data, software, and services.
Conduct periodic risk assessments, compliance reviews, and program evaluations to identify gaps and strengthen controls.
Monitor regulatory changes and ensure timely implementation of new or updated compliance requirements.
Serve as the company’s Empowered Official or designated US Military Compliance System representative, where applicable.

Regulatory Compliance

Ensure compliance with applicable export control, sanctions, customs, aerospace, and quality management regulations.
Maintain working knowledge of ITAR, EAR, OFAC, U.S. Customs, FAA, AS9100, NAS 992, and applicable international trade requirements.
Translate regulatory requirements into practical business processes that support compliant operations across the organization.

Classification and Licensing

Determine and document ECCN and USML classifications for products, technical data, software, and services.
Support Commodity Jurisdiction determinations and classification reviews in partnership with technical and business teams.
Prepare, submit, manage, and maintain export license applications, agreements, exceptions, and exemptions.
Maintain regulatory records in accordance with EAR, ITAR, FAA, and company record-retention requirements.

Technical Data and Technology Controls

Oversee controls for export-controlled technical data, technology transfers, and related access requirements.
Develop and maintain Technology Control Plans that support compliant engineering, product development, and operational activities.
Evaluate foreign person access to controlled information, systems, facilities, products, and technologies.

Screening and Due Diligence

Manage denied party, restricted party, and sanctions screening processes across customers, suppliers, distributors, and business partners.
Review international transactions, shipments, and technology transfers for potential compliance risks.
Investigate and resolve potential export compliance concerns before shipment, disclosure, or transfer.

Audit, Training, and Continuous Improvement

Lead internal US Military Compliance System audits, assessments, and corrective action follow-up.
Support customer, FAA, and government agency audits by preparing documentation and coordinating internal responses.
Develop and deliver US Military Compliance System training to build awareness and accountability across the organization.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen compliance processes, controls, and reporting.

Cross-Functional Leadership

Partner with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Program Management, Supply Chain, Legal, Human Resources, Sales, and leadership teams to embed compliance into daily business decisions.
Support new product launches, international business activity, and organizational growth by identifying US Military Compliance System risks early and advising on practical mitigation strategies.
Advise senior leadership on US Military Compliance System risks, regulatory strategies, and program effectiveness.

Qualifications
🎯 What You Will Bring?

Education

Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Aviation, Business Administration, Legal Studies, or a related field.
Master’s degree or advanced coursework in trade compliance, international business, aviation, or regulatory compliance preferred.

Experience

7+ years of progressive experience in US Military Compliance System, trade compliance, aerospace compliance, or other highly regulated compliance environments.
Hands-on experience supporting aerospace, aviation, defense, manufacturing, or global operations where technical data, controlled products, and international transactions are part of the business.
Demonstrated experience with export licensing, product classification, technology controls, audits, investigations, and cross-functional compliance program management.

Required Knowledge

Export and Trade Regulations

Strong working knowledge of ITAR, EAR, OFAC, U.S. Customs, antiboycott regulations, export licensing, and export classification requirements.
Ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate them into clear, practical processes for business teams.

Aerospace and Aviation Compliance

Knowledge of FAA requirements, AS9100 Quality Management Systems, NAS 992 FOD prevention expectations, aerospace industry standards, and technical data controls.
Understanding of how US Military Compliance System intersects with engineering, manufacturing, quality, repair stations, certification environments, and global customer support.

Skills and Competencies

Strong regulatory interpretation, risk assessment, compliance management, and issue-resolution skills.
Ability to analyze complex technical, operational, and regulatory information and provide practical guidance to business partners.
Confident communication, training, presentation, and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
Proven ability to influence business decisions while maintaining regulatory discipline and compliance standards.
High degree of integrity, professionalism, sound judgment, and accountability in managing sensitive compliance matters.

Preferred Certifications

Export or trade compliance certification such as CES, CGBP, US Military Compliance System Professional Certification, or Licensed Customs Broker preferred.
AS9100 Lead Auditor certification, FAA regulatory compliance training, or similar aerospace quality certification preferred.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher is a plus.
