Job Description Summary

The Student Health and Wellness Ambassador serves as a welcoming resource for Wellness Center members by promoting health and wellness initiatives, providing exceptional customer service, and supporting member engagement activities and wellness events. Ambassadors help create a positive and inclusive environment, educate members about available services, and encourage healthy lifestyle habits throughout the MUSC community.

Job Description

• Greet members at the Member Services Desk with a strong commitment to improving the health and well-being of members and guests (25%) 

• Help create a culture of wellness by role modeling healthy behaviors, providing excellent customer service, and conducting tours for guests and prospective members (15%) 

• Process point-of-sale credit card transactions, including the sale of guest passes and memberships, and input transactions into the membership management system (10%) 

• Answer member questions and provide assistance to participants in the cardio, weight room, and other fitness areas (10%) 

• Uphold safety and cleaning policies, including cleaning and sanitizing equipment (10%) 

• Manage the lobby area to ensure it is clean, organized, and welcoming; contact housekeeping as needed (10%) 

• Perform opening and closing operational procedures as assigned (5%) 

• Offer new member equipment instruction and orientation (5%) 

• Serve as a Program Assistant as needed and complete all required training (5%) 

• Perform other duties as assigned (5%)
