Overview
University Retirement Community is seeking a full-time Unit Assistant to join our healthcare administrative team!
Wages: $20.00 - $25.00 / hr DOE
Shift: Shifts vary in length and are scheduled between 2:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Responsible for covering Nurse's station at all times. Answer telephones and direct calls accordingly.
- Assist in arranging transportation and medical appointment.
- Assist in the Admission process of the new resident as directed by the Admission Coordinator.
- Monitor and order central supplies. Submit monthly charges and billing to the Business Office.
- Filing, scanning and copying documents.
- Assist with staffing scheduling and maintaining daily sheet sign-in for nursing staff.
- Contact staff to attempt to replace personnel who have called in sick or are absent.
About You:
- Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in clerical office work, customer service or a related field.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field is preferred.
- Requires clerical skills, good phone technique, good word processing skills, and excellent communication skills.
- Working knowledge of common medical terminology preferred.
