Location: Hotel Property – Asheville, NC
Shift: Overnight | 9:00 PM – 5:00 AM
Position Type: Part-Time
Position Overview
Sheepdog Protective Services is seeking a professional Unarmed Security Guard to provide overnight roaming security at a hotel property. This role focuses on visibility, customer service, patrol, documentation, and proactive issue prevention. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and understands that strong security starts with presence, communication, and judgment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain a visible and professional security presence throughout the property
- Conduct routine and randomized foot patrols across all assigned floors and areas
- Monitor guest and employee activity to deter unauthorized behavior
- Assist guests and staff in a courteous, service-oriented manner
- Identify, document, and report suspicious activity, safety concerns, or maintenance issues
- Accurately complete daily activity reports and incident documentation
- Notify Asheville Police Department when issues exceed the scope of unarmed security and fully document the incident
- Record the entry of all emergency vehicles onto the property
Qualifications
- Valid North Carolina Unarmed Guard Registration (or ability to obtain)
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to walk, stand, and patrol for extended periods
- Strong written communication skills for reporting
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgment in dynamic situations
- Prior security, hospitality, or customer-facing experience preferred (not required)
