Now Hiring: Ukulele Teacher
Castro Valley School of Music is seeking an enthusiastic Ukulele Teacher to lead a small group class for adults. This is a part-time, in-person position teaching up to six students at a time.
We’re looking for someone who can create a welcoming, relaxed environment where adults feel comfortable learning, making music together, and having fun—no matter their previous musical experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead engaging group ukulele lessons for up to six adults
- Teach fundamental chords, strumming patterns, rhythm, and popular songs
- Adapt instruction to different skill levels and learning styles
- Encourage students and build their confidence
- Help create a friendly, social atmosphere
- Communicate clearly with students and school staff
Ideal Candidate
- Strong ukulele skills and a solid understanding of music fundamentals
- Experience teaching adults or leading group music classes preferred
- Friendly, patient, dependable, and encouraging
- Comfortable working with beginners
- Organized and able to prepare structured, enjoyable lessons
- Available for a consistent weekly class
