Audit & Tax Internship Opportunities

We are currently evaluating candidates for Audit and Tax internship opportunities beginning in mid-January. Interns will work alongside experienced professionals and gain hands-on experience serving clients across a variety of industries.

We are looking for students who are eager to learn, organized, professional, and interested in gaining practical accounting experience in a public accounting environment. Internships will require a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week.

• Audit Internship

As an Audit Intern, you will work closely with Seniors, Managers, and Partners on a variety of audit and assurance engagements. You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with different areas of the audit process, including:

• • • Performing tests of controls
    • Confirming and testing account balances and activity
    • Assisting with the preparation of financial statements, note disclosures, and related reports
    • Applying knowledge of GAAP and GAAS to real-world engagements
    • Learning and utilizing current accounting and audit technology in a paperless environment
    • Working collaboratively with engagement teams and client personnel

• Tax Internship

As a Tax Intern, you will gain experience preparing tax returns and assisting with a variety of tax-related projects for clients in different industries. Responsibilities may include:

• • • Preparing individual tax returns, including federal, state, and city returns
    • Assisting with corporation, partnership, trust, and gift tax returns
    • Assisting with fixed asset, depreciation, and tax adjustments to the general ledger
    • Researching tax-related questions and issues
    • Scanning documents and creating and maintaining electronic and paper client files
    • Assisting with other tax-related projects and duties as assigned

• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and stay organized while working under deadlines
• Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail
• Willingness to adapt to changing situations and priorities in a positive manner
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
• Proficiency with technology and Microsoft Office Suite
• Working knowledge of GAAP and GAAS
• Experience with automated accounting systems is a plus
• Ability to organize and manage projects
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Willingness to work additional hours during peak periods
• Audit interns should be willing to travel approximately 25%
