Responsibilities
- Provide basic and critical respiratory care for adult and geriatric patients, under physician orders and departmental policy.
- Administer aerosol and oxygen therapy; document care in electronic medical records, flow sheets, and charges.
- Draw arterial blood gases per policy and orders; manage care for ventilated patients.
- Assist in department operations, supervise or train new staff as delegated, and support nursing staff in patient surveillance and equipment.
- Perform pulmonary function tests as assigned and participate in related quality and safety activities.

Requirements
- NBRC credential: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT); required in CA.
- California license: Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license; required in CA.
- Certifications: Current BLS/CPR certification; ACLS required; NRP and PALS: preferred.
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in respiratory therapy; Master’s degree preferred; at least three years of technical experience preferred.
- Experience: Minimum two years of recent respiratory therapy experience.
